Transfer window thread?

Because of Kane, we'll always be a graveyard for back-up CFs.

We need to find a CF Vorm, which is why I think we tried Llorente.

Batbricky also really doesn't look that good in a competitive league
A youngish centre forward that I thought looked excellent around the time that we signed Janssen was Sebastian Haller. A Frenchman who I think was playing for Utrecht. Dunno what ever happened to him?

*edit* just looked him up and it seems he went to Eintracht Frankfurt for €7million at the start of the last summer. 10 goals in 19 games in total for them so far.

some classic transfer deadline action going on over at our neighbours, flights between Dortmund and London being analysed, commercial schedules posted, flight radar tracks of private jets, lovely stuff

I just saw an interesting article on line about Klassen at Everton, it suggested a loan to us might be beneficial to all concerned, it don't sound like a bad idea to me, I know he's struggled with them but they weren't a good fit for him, he might give us cover for Eriksen at not a lot of money.

Makes me laugh, what is to be gained from all the excitement? Either way itll either happen or it wont. People really should get some perspective.

I thought he was supposed to be more of a goal scorer than a creative type?

I guess you could say the same thing about reading transfer rumours. Either they'll get confirmed at some point or they won't. ;)

It is quite cool when you go off grid for a week or two, and come back to find we've signed players we hadn't been linked with/you've never heard of before. That happened with me with Capoue, and then last summer Sanchez. It sort of recaptures the spirit of out of the blue Klinsmann/Modric signings a bit

I used to work with a kid who would take deadline day off work so he could watch the Jim white tossathon all day

Except for the part where its not even similar ;)

Keeping up with the news vs Obsessively tracking flight patterns...

Hehe, I see your point! Except, the news will write exactly stuff like that, "moura spotted on a train", "moura spotted in London", "moura at hotspur way", "Aurier commented on mouras latest Instagram photo" and so on. But sure, if it gets too speculative, there are good reasons for getting disinterested. :)

The news feed off of the fever all the hype creates. Its a self fulfilling cycle of flimflam, which plenty of muppets get sucked into.

Independent is saying that we're looking at Salomon Rondon from West Brom as one of a few options to replace Llorente if we sell him. £25m for Llorente is a great price - not convinced that Rondon is much of an upgrade though he's a bit younger. Mind you, based on Llorente's contribution so far, an upgrade isnt tough

Rondon is ok, a bit of a blunt instrument but ok. Id be surprised if he was on our radar though.

That said, id see him as an upgrade as well, so far Llorente has really disappointed
