Transfer window thread?

Woolwich deal for Aubaeyang reportedly done for £60m. Personal terms to be agreed - He reportedly wants to be paid more than the £170k Mkhitaryan is getting and Woolwich are ready to make him their highest paid player.
All dependent however on Dortmund getting a replacement in. Keen on Giroud but his wife wants to stay in London.

Sounds like whatever happens either arsenal are going to get fleeced or fudged

He's already been registered at 2 clubs this season, so can't go to a third. The same with Janssen.
That rule is often quoted but is usually relaxed. It was set up to stop agents/clubs using a middle club. i.e. Man Utd don’t want to sell Martial to us, so Everton buy him and then sell him to us immediately for a small profit.

I remember being quite keen on Batshuayi when we were linked, looked a real prospect.

Now? Part of me thinks "fudge him, he made his bed..." and part of me thinks "Even though he hasnt done it at Chelsea he is still young and could improve"

And finally I think he is a hell of a lot more mobile that Llorente...

Because of Kane, we'll always be a graveyard for back-up CFs.

We need to find a CF Vorm, which is why I think we tried Llorente.

Batbricky also really doesn't look that good in a competitive league

Its fantasy stuff anyway, never going to happen.

That said, I think we need to go one of two ways.

Old head, able to play in fits and starts (Llorente)

or

Young / raw / potential type who has the ability but wont be demanding games yet (maybe someone like Batshuayi)

I think its telling that the best cover we have had for Kane is Son, someone who - while out of position when covering - plays regularly. So perhaps there is no ideal solution?

If we go young it has to be someone low profile and low ego. Like maybe that Jann-Fiete Arp kid?

At 18, he'd maybe do 3-4 seasons learning from the master, before getting restless and wanting to move on

A player can be registered for 3 clubs in a season, but can only play for 2. See article 5 Section 3 Page 9:

However it's a moot point as far as Janssen is concerned as he played against Chelsea in the opening game, and he's coming back to Spurs anyway. Llorente by contrast appears not to have played for Swansea, so he could go elsewhere (or even back to Swansea).

Given most people think Sissoko has failed to impress we could always try him up front, he much quicker than Llorente and if he just used his physic and hit ball first time he might surprise us all!

And, as I have said before Chelsea is the sort of club that throws away good players before giving them a chance such as De Bruyne, Lukaku, Marin etc. I wouldn’t judge Batshuayi on his time at Chelsea. He still has a fairly good strike rate for minutes played iirc.

Im not against the idea, just kind of indifferent I suppose.

If its a choice between him and Llorente Id happily swap.
