Transfer thread

We moaned that Poch was given players he didn’t want and now we are asking why we haven’t signed anyone before the new coach has even seen the squad he is working with. It baffles me.
Its not as if Frank is going in blind and doesn’t know what to address. But I think he will be given some money and probably wants to see where the priorities lay. Sensible approach. But also we know we never try to compete in the market for top players when top 8 clubs are trying to buy players. We will get blown out of the water with wages and will not buckle into over spending.

What's it going to take though? 61k stadium nfl go kart still not enough? Even Wrexham is building a 52K cap stadium for just getting into the championship. We're never ever going to spend bug are we?

No we do spend big … but not competitively and certainly not going to get involved in getting any player across the line if serious clubs want the player.

We are like the runt of the litter trying to get a bite… we just have to wait for the bigger dogs to eat and we get a chance at what’s left.

When you have zero interest in go karting and ghe NFL is over priced that leaves us with the stadium, what we now want is a team to play in it and win big.
The income from other streams mean nothing if it's not spent on the real purpose of a football stadium.

Unfortunately we are not going to spend what it takes or what we don’t have. We will however spend money on players but not just the players that will consistently make us serious contenders.

When we spend big fees we have previously seen that those players are not world class. We will get a three off that sort of player rather than lump the money on two extraordinary players

I remember when the new stadium was the absolutely essential ingredient that was going to propel us into the big league and have us competing at the top table for all the best players (and not at all just a way for ENIC to lock in a big chunk of the sale value of their asset) ... sigh.

Wrexham are building a 5k stand, nowhere near a 52k stadium.

Don't spoil a chance to have a dig at the club, some just don't get we are a club on the deprived outskirts of London competing with 2 other London teams who will out bids us in terms of salary and transfer fees, it might change if we get an owner who will throw unlimited funds and bend the rules but it will be difficult to find someone that meets our high moral grounds and cater to all our needs.

Apperently we're about to sign 19 year old Kees Smit from AZ Alkmaar. I quite like him. Silky smooth touch and control. Plays with his head up. Mostly plays like a #10.
