Id like to see that. I wouldnt particularly sign a CM this year. See what Frank and a double pivot can do with our current roster (including potentially even Devine)I think Biss will be important under Frank.

I had to Google her, and I see the attractionYeah, and I'd like to bang Yanet Garcia.
If we just signed Eze, the Japanese CB, and a similar CM, I think I would be happy. There isn't a need for us to sign so many players when Frank hasn't had a chance to get his hands on the existing players yet.
Who we sell is maybe more contentious. Son? Davies? Romero? Potentially the two leaders from Ange's setup. Not sure letting both go would be a good idea, when we need more experienced players.
I still think the Biss / Bents axis will be broken up this year. Both have a year left in their contracts and I don't know how both get new contracts this summer. Surely one will stay, one will go.
I'm very curious as to what we do in the middle of the park.
I'm also of the school of thought that the right offer for Sarr would be accepted by the club and player.
Its reportedly 50% of €30m. So maybe £12-13m. Not a great return on GLC, but at least its something
Agree re Biss/Bentancur, noise for some time has been Bentancur is getting new contract (personally I see him as having higher celing, pre-injury Conte version of Bentancur was close to elite). Biss could have a role in a Frank system, but age, consistency issues probably mean he moves on (if we have someone coming in)
I don't think we are even considering Sarr, he's a box to box runner that can provide a bit of a goal threat that's just a little bit different from what the others do. Personally think Frank's 2 at the moment will be Bentancur & Bergvall.
The majority of transfer are failures, so if he's exceeding 50% hit rate, that's good.Has paratici actually been good for us?
Don't get me wrong, some players have increased in value. But we've had misses.
Are you forgetting our keeper too?The majority of transfer are failures, so if he's exceeding 50% hit rate, that's good.
Romero, Kulu, Bentancur, Sarr and Udogie have all been big wins. Porro and Spence probably too
Vicario signed the window after Paratici leftAre you forgetting our keeper too?
But was clearly a paratici signingVicario signed the window after Paratici left
0I wonder whether Lange had to google Kota Takai, Lucien Agoumé, Koni De Winter and Niccolò Pisilli before he added them to his summer shopping list?
What's your individual score (0-4) on knowing these guys without googling them? Mine was big fat zero.
0
As it should be
These are not stars but potential and why we employ scouts
The score only counts from the moment they actually play for you. How many times have we seen over the years upon a player's signing them being lauded and the answer for all ills? It happens across the board at all clubs. Frankly the proof is always on the pudding as they say.I wonder whether Lange had to google Kota Takai, Lucien Agoumé, Koni De Winter and Niccolò Pisilli before he added them to his summer shopping list?

I've he really been a critic of the way this club does business (specifically the timing) but I've never really criticised the names as such especially if they are an unknown quantity. Then you just have to give them time and judge the success of the signing based on the performances they put out.
All the other transfer window brick is really just fan pride and ego and it's fudging irrelevant. I don't care if we sign a player for 100m or 1m. How suitable is the player? What attributes do they have? Are they going to improve the first 11? These are the questions that matter. Not whether Danny Rose knows their fudging name.
Sorry mate due to my tone it probably came across like I was criticising you but I wasn't. I was agreeing and just going on a bit of general rant.Want to make sure you haven't made an assumption of what I think good and bad is. I actually want to be googling names as I knew nothing about Venom, Romero, VDV, Udogie, Porro, Bentancur. I could go on and on, but we make good signings where I have to google, mostly in the younger category. I don't disagree with what you say though. The timing of our transfers has sucked at times.
As it is a transfer speculation thread, I was more interested to know whether other fans who watch more football than me know these names. Take De Winter. He's 23 now and a full international. He might have come on someone's radar. Tommy certainly knew about Takai as he's out there in Japan. He was posting about it a few days ago.
Anyway, you can't change the rules of my game. I invented the scoring system![]()
Needs to play in a midfield two, not as a lone 6. And needs someone next to him who can take more of the creative/passing responsibility. And ideally also sit back more.If he signed a new contract I could see Frank making him into what we suspected he could be: a monster of a midfielder.

I think pretty much the same about Bentancur though.
Given contracts and club trained issues if we bring in a new deep midfielder one of them probably has to go.
