Transfer Rumour Discussion Thread

So current rumours suggest...

Willian to have medical in London today over a reported £30m move (ITK has piped up saying that a medical is booked for later today, same place Soldado had his)

Lamela or Lamela's Dad / Agent are in London for talks.

Sweet mother of pearl WTF is going on?!

Two possible scenarios:
1. Bale is gone, and we buy before we sell to not be held for ransom by selling clubs.
2. The rumours about Joe Lewis and a loan for £50 mill is true, and we are pushing to win the league WITH Bale in the team.
In 13 days we know for sure

If we sell Bale and sign one of those it will be bitter sweet, but more bitter than sweet.

If we sell Bale and sign both of those it will be bitter sweet, but more sweet than bitter.

In my opinion at least. I just hope we're not in for both just in case one deal collapses and both is not an option even if Bale is sold.

Spurs technical director Franco Baldini will meet with Roma officials on Tuesday to discuss a move for the Argentine, while the Anzhi star is set for a medical in the next 24 hours

By Greg Stobart & Wayne Veysey

Tottenham are closing in on a £60 million double swoop for Roma star Erik Lamela and Anzhi Makhachkala attacker Willian, Goal can reveal.

Spurs technical director Franco Baldini is meeting with Roma chief Walter Sabatini in London on Tuesday, with
Willian set to undergo a medical in the capital in the next 24 hours.

The White Hart Lane outfit have yet to confirm a fee with Anzhi over the 25-year-old Brazilian but Goal understands that they will pay in the region of £30m for the former Shakhtar Donetsk star.

Liverpool had previously been confident of securing the attacker's signature after having lodged a bid of €30 million [£25.6m] on Monday, but the player's preference to play under Andre Villas-Boas has seen the Reds overtaken by the north Londoners.

Meanwhile Lamela, who is seen by Tottenham as the ideal replacement for Gareth Bale, is set to be offered a five-year deal worth £65,000-a-week by Spurs, with the Welshman's future at the club still in the balance.

Real Madrid want to sign Bale and are willing to offer a world record fee worth in the region of £86 million - but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is still holding out for £100m despite the 24-year-old’s desire to move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Sources have told Goal that Lamela is the "absolute priority" should Bale leave and was already at the very top of the wishlist of both manager Villas-Boas and Baldini.

Baldini knows Lamela well from his time at Roma and the 21-year-old was a major point of discussion when the Italian met Walter Sabatini, the sporting director of Roma, in London earlier this month.

so Stobart is saying .....

what is bang in the middle of 86 mill and 100 mill......93 mill, the exact sum that is being claimed is the agreed selling price this afternoon :-k the obvious compromise

If true, I imagine it's £93m INCLUDING Coentrao. Not £93m PLUS Coentrao. Otherwise, if you conservatively value him at £14m (say), the total transfer would be almost £110m. I just can't see Madrid paying that, after all the talk about Bale being overpriced at £80m.

but Coentrao wont be part of the Bale deal....it will be 93 mill for Bale, and then Spurs will buy Coentrao for 14 mill in a separate deal

The figure being quoted in the Italian media is 93 million euros (£80m) + Coentrao.

If you've seen it reported in euros I think that depends on which Italian media outlet you choose to believe.

Gianluca Di Marzio seems to be one of the more trustworthy sources and he's been quoted as the person who broke this (part of) the story and he specifically said £93m.

thats the one....get with it Gutter....no way is Levy gonna sell Bale for less than a world record fee
