****Tottenham Hotspur v BVB********* OMT Official

I unfortunately missed the game but am chuffed with the result. Watched the highlights on YouTube and it was never a sending off. About time had something go in our favour though.

I'm just hoping this is a momentum shifter. Reading everyone's comments it seemed everyone was chuffed with having Udogie back, and impressed that Frank then unleashed Spence further forward. I got the impression that having our only real number 9 playing made a difference and also read that Xavi was impressive. I'm guess the 2 young midfielders played with maturity beyond their years as well, whilst the Romero/Danso partnership blossoms again.

I'm really happy for Frank. He'll hopefully have a few back at the weekend like Biss / Gallagher / Tel etc. If he can get another win, I think he can still turn this around.

Be nice to see Kulu getting involved soon.

It was a frustrating night for us at home as internet was not working, I only listen to matches on radio if I'm driving and had to keep checking text on TV (some say it's the best way to watch us this season), couldn't even follow it on here, pleased for everyone, the players must feel relief after that win. I had little hope of anything tonight.

Didn’t see it as I’m away but woke this morning and am delighted with that. Great result and credit to Frank given the pressure he is under.

Still a long way back from here but that does not take away from the result.

The first half in particular was so much better than what we've seen this season. Obviously having Solanke back helps, but just the intent and movement of giving forward options was great. Also helps having Udogie back who gives much better balance.

I can't help but feel it would be wrong to give up on Frank - the second best away record in the league, top 8 in the CL. It's been a horrendous couple of months performance and results wise but the players are playing for him and maybe as players return he could arrest the home form. To put in that performance and result with the number of players we had out was impressive. He deserves all the credit for matches like this, just needs to make it more frequent.....

The fact that we’re second in away results and 17th in home results is quite strong evidence to me that the toxic home atmosphere is contributing to our poor results.

The tactical system was interesting - the three at the back system seemed to give our forward players a lot of license to press at will in that first 20-25m, even before the red card. It was a similar experience the last time Frank used it too, at PSG in the Super Cup. Wonder why he hasn't used it more often.

We currently have a reasonable number of roughly decent CBs (Romero, Danso, Dragusin, VdV, Takai - leaving out Davies given his long-term injury), with Vuskovic to come in this summer. Would be interesting seeing a three at the back system more often as the season wears on, with VdV stepping in to play the role Udogie played y'day, allowing the latter to return to being the left wing-back.

This also compensates for our lack of a progressive midfielder - we could play two 8s in midfield, i.e, Gallagher and Bergvall (for instance) and still have two 10s in front of them supporting the lone striker (as we did y'day with Simons and Odobert floating around).

Overall, it was a sorely needed pick-me-up after Spam. But it means nothing if Frank doesn't win the next two, against Burnley and Frankfurt.

nobody saying that its 11 v 10 - it was a must win

good reprieve and allows everyone to breathe, but it is going back to 11 v 11 very soon

For sure both the red card and getting the early goal were significant factors. Even though they didn't create much they did put us under pressure in the second half, had they had 11 men on the pitch it could have been a different story.

But it's imo also true that the performance up until the red card was some of the best football we've played this season imo. Can we replicate that?
