*** Tottenham Hotspur FC v Burnley ***

Vicario 7 - maybe deserves more for that deflected looped save. Got his foot to the first goal shot, but was neigh impossible to save, as was their second into the corner. 7.5

Porro 7 - should be an 8 but defensively we was beaten. Looks like quite a player that 18 yo. Maybe we hadn't prepared for the Italian and he was caught cold, but he had Porro on toast. Porro gets a 7 because of the beaut of a pass for Son, and his attacking contributions. Many on here said he couldn't play LB! :D Not only does he fit with Anges way of playing (Royal does not), he will get better defensively. It is not his instinctive game, but he is improving.

Romero 10 - not sure what else you could ask for?

VDV - 8 - love the way he compliments Romero. 1-1 he is as good as they come. Has confidence in his pace and strength and can snuff out anyone. He was too quick for one of their goals and went past the ball!

Udogie 8.5 - is there a better LB in the league? I don't think so. This system also suits him.

BOSSouma 8 - bossed it second half. Couple of wayward passes in the first half, second half he was a man possessed.

Sarr 6.5 - again wasn't flowing first half, did better second.

Maddison 9 - great to see him score. He should get more goals. I am super critical, as if he realised more openings and was more clincal he would be up there with the worlds elite.

Solomon 8 - we've missed a tricky winger, and here he was. He skipped around challanges and seemed to have an instant connection with Son. Finding him with quite difficult passes. Hopefully more to come from him.

Kulu 8 - he is not in his groove yet this season, and you can feel the frustration. Yet he did a lot of the dirty work tracking, winning the ball etc and he fought his way through. A bit of an unsung hero tho, without him I don't think we'd have done as well. Gritty perforame without the eye-catching stuff.

Son 100 - he was getting frustrated, and then all the goals came. Lovely to see his enthusiasm leading the line. Intelligent runs and confidence to tuck the ball away three times.

This is the football I loved, watched and played, it was about scoring more goals than your opponents not letting in less. That was far too simpler game and no need for a panel of arseholes to explain why that goal should not have been scored and this team had % of possession and 57 touches in a part of the field, who cares at the end of the day I want to see two teams trying to play not just trying to stop the other playing.

Danny? Is that you?

Sadly the football as we knew it in Danny"s day is lost and buried in todays game, Despot money, greedy agents, and fans that demand sucess and when they do not get it bitch at the club/owners and players.:(
Players were still sold for big fees back then, the only difference was that the clubs were all powerful instead of the players,

You're right but ever kid wanted to play for their local club whatever the money and the players were normal people and approachable, now they're tin gods in flash cars with an entourage to keep the scruffs away.
