So excited about this one.

I think he's especially perfect for Angeball, or high line and large area defending. On top of that he is brave and successful in tackling, ball progression and long passing. He can play across lcb and rbn, and therefore can not only cover both positions but mire importantly for me, challenge romero for the starting spot. So, perfect for our situation currently.

He's also got all the attributes to be a world class player.

Last season stats pulled off a manyoo fan's post:

Thought it's a no go
Don't think it's a no go based on what's been reported. We're trying seemingly.

But the ownership situation, him being a really good players others might also want, of course the cost. Probably makes it a very difficult deal to get across the line.

Gut feeling is this will be a summer transfer, whether to Spurs or somewhere else. Wouldn't be surprised to see a new name pop up in the next few days.

Sounds like United's potential involvement won't cause any issues with us negotiationg a fee with Nice.. Guess as with all these things, the proof will be in the official announcement. But good to hear noises around this stuff happening in December, rather than at the end of Jan.

Seens a bit too highly rated to be signed when we have the makings of a strong partnership here already

For us to sign him or for him to sign for us?

For us I would say it makes a lot of sense. We need a CB, let's try to sign the best CB we can. If he's too good to sit on the bench that's a luxury problem we've been without way too often.

Of course is he ends up being ridiculously expensive perhaps that money could be spent elsewhere to greater effect. But not sure he will be that expensive?

Can understand if your concern is about him signing for us.

Not really a concern more so trying the gauge the validity of the rumours - good sign if we're able to attract this level of player when there's not a clear space in the starting XI waiting for him

Tosin Adarabioyo seem more likely, purely because of his contract situation at Fulham. Idk what posters think about him but he’s a bit more experienced and knows the league.

Certainly a cost-effective, plug-and-play addition. But not in the same class as Romero or Van de Ven. We need players of their caliber, if we're looking long term for success in both the league and Europe.

We need four first choice centre halves. At the moment we have two and a couple of kids, and a couple of fullbacks. Can't stress enough the need for depth here as Ange asks so much of the position that we will need options there regularly.

Not really. CBs are like GKs - they don't need rotating. Look at how Verts and Alder locked down the places for 90%+ of the games during their partnership.

One really capable deputy, a promising kid and someone like Davies able to do a job there is ample. We just lack the first of those.

He's impressed me the few times we've played them in recent seasons. Which isn't a big sample. I have a suspicion Tosin Adarabioyo could be a little under the radar and not that far off VDV - who is himself not all that experienced. Adarabioyo is tall and able to defend high balls. Idk how rapid he is.

He might just be a better signing for where we are now. No bedding into the city or league. And whilst under the radar he is a very decent CB.

These compilations are particularly useless for defenders as its the moments where they switch off that you tend to count more. But interesting to see him play a little. Clearly a decent CB
