Thomas Frank - Head Coach

The point being that given who we have lost out we need to make up their contribution, Ange did it with Kane loss but did it with 3/4 of the below, we don't even have those 3 or Solanke. I am not giving Frank a pass for everything, but the below is a massive loss towards our attacking intent, no matter how its dressed up

I get it. Our collective nowadays is the following

Solanke (inj)
Richi
Tel
Johnson
Muani
Odobert
Kudus
Xavi
Madds (inj)
Kulu (inj)
Scarlett

When you add back the natural attacking intent of Bergval and Sarr, when does Frank get more optimisation from the group? We have 8-10 fit players for 4 or 5 first team shirts. I believe every one of them has impressed in certain spells in their careers implying some real potential for them to gel in our shirt. I'm trying to build a case for Frank, but he needs to unshackle some tactical constraints he has set down in my opinion.

I think you are right, I don't think Frank is infallible to those criticisms, but we are also missing 2/3rds of any quality that we have as a squad/team and its showing also.

And I would be saying that for any manager here managing under those constraints

frank needs time to undo the damage that has done
hope the lewis family was there and understand we need much better players and do all it takes - even if it means breaking the current wage structure

What do people believe has been our best overall PL performance so far under Frank?

I know many will say Emirates Marketing Project, but i actually wonder if it was Brighton despite the draw?
We sounded like we were on the front foot most oft he game but unlucky to not win. I also wonder if Frank was partially scarred from that game in how easily we conceded those goals despite how we played..thoughts?

I thought we were brilliant against Brighton, Emirates Marketing Project Obviously, Copenhagen was swashbuckling, Leeds was very professional and Everton was a plan that was brilliantly executed IMO

Bleep me, that is worrying...

Edit, that's a sign of a guy under big pressure AND feeling it and it seeping out..

We can only hope this is that moment, where he says 'bleep it' let's go for it,nothing to lose at this point etc etc.

We will see in our next two games. That has the chance to chance the feeling before we go to St James Park.

Over to you Frank
Pressure comes with the job and earning £8m a year
He is realising it now
He has to look forward and not backwards

Yeah, we should really have been out of sight in the first half.
Then Wolves changed things in the second half and Frank really didn't have any tactical answers. That game was much more worrying than the recent defeats
Wolves changed one thing
The end we started against
We had 2 shots on target that first half
We had a lower XG than them and less shots
We were lucky against the worst side in the league

Yep
All of them
For differing reasons
That’s the bar
He has the same players available now
Recurring theme in some of them was our keeper was MOTM

We were playing against a VERY low block with 10 men behind the ball most of the time.
If my memory serves me we missed at least two sitters and had a Kudus goal disallowed for offside.
The second half after Romero went marauding and then we conceded from that corner was horrid, but we were definitely more of what we'd want in that first half, only missing a goal.
Who knows how things would be if that Kudus goal had stood because it was sublime passing move. Oh well..

Its not stuck anywhere, I just don't believe a stupid rhetoric that we have only scored goals by "luck"

I am also not stuck in the sand knowing this clubs recent history of hire and fire and being stuck in a circle for nearly 30 years.

So yeah, as I say, lets sack the manager to please peoples itch in November, but I am saying this now, WHOEVER comes in needs fcuking time to turn this club anywhere near to the level that everyone seems to be comparing us to.

If you think we get to Arsenal levels or Liverpool of the past 8 years hiring and firing our way there, then its not me with their head in the sand hombre
Top level straw manning there, never mentioned sacking Frank or getting to Arsenal or Liverpool levels.
We are currently above where we deserve to be and that is now starting to show as we slip down the table.
The stats bare that out that we are above where we should be.

Frank does need to show more. I'm fine with a midtable finish if we show progress. Nobody realistic is expecting us to go from 17th to challenging for the title. At the moment there is nothing there to hang any hope on and no sign of progress.

He was well offside though
Just like the arsenal second
Was a low block though after they scored
And that’s when we really struggled
The bbc do great data form games where it shows teams attacking momentum… our best spell was first 10 mins

I am talking about the wider fanbase where its clearly a topic (both examples).......even on here TBH.

I am not saying Frank is bullet proof, but some are IMO over egging the omelette on how bad we are and very much over estimating the quality he has available.

That same quality though played well in some games that you reference earlier. The quality hasn’t got worse

Maybe
We don’t know that for a fact
But playing 8 defensive players lead to a brick show in defence, we do know that
Xhaka is better than anything we can put out in midfield, that is not at all debatable. I know this and you know this.

I agree that the 343 was never going to get a win, but then I don't really think there's any combination given who was available that would have gotten the win.

I'd rather not go defensive and 3 at the back is automatically defensive imo but I kind of understand why he attempted it. I think he's done what so many Tottenham fans wont do and that is looked at the squad with clean eyes and accepted it's weakness.

We don’t win there with better players and a better coach
That I accept
I don’t accept that the squad is poor but I don’t think it’s full of world class talent either
I’d say it’s better than a lot of sides as it should be with the money spent
Have we actually actually played the same 11 twice this season? Doubt it
Scary thing is we have added first team ready players this season and it’s no better (I’d say worse but that would start an Ange convo)

You lose, you lose, the idea there is a romance to be had for losing with intent is fine, but I have seen us try that over the years and get dingdonged. Last season League Cup against Liverpool was hardly what I call showing intent.

But their consistency to perform at that is always a mark of lesser players, it’s what marks players out and has done in the history of the game.
Or how they are managed or mismanaged
Pretty sure the team has been chopped and changed in players but not structure until yesterday
