Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Nah, I think not.
Frank has only managed 10 league games, he obviously needs more time.
By the way, we have 17 points and have scored 14 goals.
In comparison, with Poch after his first 10 league games we had amassed just 14 points and scored just 11 goals.
But we all know people have short memories.

I think this misses a wider point/discussion.
Who are we stylistically? Who does TF want us to be stylistically? Do we trust that his vision and what many of us want in that regard will align? Do we believe he can progress as a coach and manager in that regard?
He does obviously need (and deserve) more time; but those are the questions I think are worth asking and keeping an eye on.

Just saw something on Reddit saying that we have played 4 through balls this season, and one at home. That can’t be right?

Supposedly league average is 18, with top teams doing 30+.

I’m begging it to be the case that I’ve fallen for some really subtle satire.

Milo just read that stat on the pod record and I was flabbergasted.
If you find you are a victim of satire, please let me know too.

BTW, this is from TF's first words as our manager.

"We'll play risk-taking, aggressive football. We want to play forward, to attack...ff you don't take risks, you also take risks".

Essentially, this season comes down to whether he will, indeed, take heed of his own words. We have established he deserves some time (this season at least) to do so. But we also need to remember that he said this - offered it as what he would do - yet the facts are not supporting the words as of right now.

I think (for now) I'll choose to read it as 'he was offering the PR line and saying what we wanted to hear', however I like him and believe him to be an honest man, so at some point this season, the above charactaristics have to show up.

Absolutely.

It makes me raise a wry eyebrow when I see things like ‘once we get Madders and Kulu back things will be better’ because a stat like this one, FOUR through balls all season…that clearly is not the players. That is very blatantly a result of the instruction they’ve been given.

I genuinely would love to understand why Frank has gone about things this way. It’s yielded points away from home but it so clearly would cause issues when he has to seize the initiative. What is the rationale?

Copenhagen and Man Utd this week should be telling. You'd like to think the message was loud and clear after Chelsea. If we are just as boring in those 2 games, I'll start to worry a bit.
