Thomas Frank - Head Coach

these players are letting him down

particularly the cb's, but he's also put Simons straight back in after his suspension and he has repaid Frank by being brick, Muani has been hiding all season, got to start in his supposed favoured slot then shied off the required press

I sense you enjoy being annoyed, possibly in general, but certainly about Spurs, as you are just focusing on the elements that fuel your arguments - there's no pragmatism in your comments.

As regards the Europa League - if you are so dismissive of the competition's quality, why is it that we have not won it in previous years, over and over again? Its a premier competition across Europe and is a major trophy - how many have Spurs won in your life time? Don't dismiss the achievement with such disdain - it was a hell of an achievement for a team that in other areas was in free fall.

I see a resurgence in our form because I think Frank is doing what he is doing right now on purpose to make us hard to beat. I think he's recognised that right now there is a lack of creativity in the team, and thus his logic, for right or for wrong, is to make us hard to beat, and then add creativity as we get players back. On that basis the return of the injured players will be beneficial to that process - my view only - you'll no doubt have yours.

Villa was a microcosm of the league this season. There's 4 points between 5th and 14th. With that in mind, a run of any sort can propel you up the league - which is what has happened with Villa, and which a neg-head such as yourself perceives we are incapable of doing. If Villa can do it, with a squad that is beset with PSR related issues, has goalkeeper and forward issues, then why can't we? The Villa form is an example of what can be done, incidentally, by sticking to your principals and toughing it out when the going gets tough - Emery didn't change or compromise his style, he doubled down and stuck it out. Stability is key, not knee jerk armchair football management, and its certainly not a negative argument as regards Thomas Frank, its a resounding slap on the back for consistency and stability.

Next you compare 3 seasoned footballers with several years of top flight experience (Maddison, Kulusevski and Solanke) to three new signings in Kolo Muani, Simons, and Kudus. Its fair enough if you want to compare them from a talent perspective - I think all three new players stack up pretty well - but tell me, when you started a new job last time around were you able to walk in on day one, and be totally and completely effective in your role from the off? Or did it take you a while to do that before people saw your worth? I ask because this is what you are doing. You're loading 60+ goal involvements from 3 seasoned EPL players onto one new signing from a smaller London club, and two from overseas who are learning their new jobs in a foreign language in another country. In the case of Kolo Muani he's not even had a pre-season. They are not at the level of the three injured guys yet, but the really exciting thing is that when all six are up to speed and available, we will have proper depth of squad at 7,9, and 10. Adding Palhinha was astute but was instigated with Frank in the seat - if Ange had wanted him he would have discussed this and they would have tried.

I accept you're a pessimist and I accept that you will have your views, but I think you're more or less wrong about the direction of travel under Frank. Ange's approach to losing Maddison and Kulusevski last season was to make us hard to beat and less flamboyant - to grind out results - this is exactly what Frank is doing, and he's doing it without Son as well.
Let me know when that 8 win out of 10 run is coming so I can get excited by it. We just lost another one. There is a guy that promised not to cut his hair until Man United win 5 games in a row. He is at almost 500 days of not cutting his hair. When I'll see him, I'll think of this conversation

Because they never were 5th with him, this is the most points they have ever had at this point of a season.

Think for a moment, their established manager and 2 best players leave and they not only do ok, they do better than that manager ever did. What is says is Brentford as a club was more likely responsible for his success and under a coach with none/zero coaching experience are outperforming his 7+ years there ..

He's a fudging Potter, bad call, time for the club to move on

Orgnisations are not built in a day. Frank helped to build the success they are enjoying. It is that simple. The money they made from players that he coached into world beaters etc. It is a really wack argument. And when you dig into it, its more of an endorsement of Frank than a criticism.

Brentford are a well run club which has all departments pulling in the same direction - it's why they can promote from within and not miss a beat (they promoted Frank too iirc)

What is your Brentford without Frank is 5th thing? Lol. You know he built that club. All the foundations, plans for players, recuitment, development of players owe a legacy to Frank and his team.

Can see above, I predicted that things would get more perilous for Frank and us. When relying on so many young players it is going to be a roller coaster. There are moments of skill, and lapses too. Have to be patient with an unsettled side like this missing our choice attack. At least we were in the mix, and could have won it.
Sounds like Jim Bowen after the finalists failed to get 101 or more with 6 darts.

They don't buy what he's selling, and that's on him.

His job is to get them to perform, his job is to coach them to be better, if they are doing neither, it's on him ..

The experienced players are in defence and DM, yet they are the ones that repeatedly fudged up and didn't do their jobs tonight.

The first 15 to 20 minutes tonight was probably our best football of the season. High press, progressive passes and carries, forward passes through the centre, bravery on the ball. I was encouraged by that period

For the rest of the game I thought we were OK. Certainly didn’t deserve to lose and may have even deserved to win. However, we have this horrible tactic of dropping deep into our area and leaving lots of space around our penalty.box so that players have time to pick crosses or shots.

Come on mate. this is our standard now? we looked ok for a little bit against Bournemouth?

We didn't dominate the game, we didn't own possession, their keeper had one notable save, we still fudge up basics like throw ins, the manager was slow on subs (RKM should have come off at HT)

Where the fudge is @DubaiSpur to back me up, this is our ambition, 3 wins in last 12 PL games and well at least we didn't get tonked is the sentiment?

Are you able to stop posting until we win 8 from 10?

Asking for a friend 😘

We need someone to come in and make sure we are in the PL next season now, having lost the fan base against you isn't going to help.

Yes but it’s all connected. The pressure from midfielders and attackers to close the opponents. The team shape. Team confidence. When there are kids madly running around and not much shape it leads to the kinds of goals we conceded first half. Bergvall is going to be an awesome player but he madly chases the ball when holding the right position in a low block would have helped more.

I've joined the Frank out side.
it's way to toxic.

I think the fan base is too fractured, club would be better off making the stadium away fans only, half of us are going to hound out every manager

The goals in the first half were due to those experience players not closing down and not marking up, it was nothing to do with the kids. FBs (experienced) not getting close to wingers crossing, CBs (experienced) not marking in the box, DMs (experienced) not marking.

I don’t see how you link either of those two goals to the youngsters?
