I was underwhelmed when Frank was appointed and I kind of still feel the same but we can’t keep jettisoning managers on a whim when things are looking bad. We need to give him the season, and the summer window and the next season (barring relegation risk)- unless we have a managerial genius up our sleeve to replace him.
We know that Vinai gave Legohead time and leeway so he may be the same here - as long as there’s a billion in the bank to spend of course

Ange had to go, but a lot of cries of sack him and bring in frank, Silva, glasner or the Bournemouth guy were not Imv progress.
These managers are all of a similar level, and none good enough for where the club or a sizable section of the fanbase want to be.
Don't know who I'd pick tbh, but whoever it is will need time because we are a mess, but if Frank or anyone gets 8 years and £billion to spend like Arteta has and serves up the garbage football they play the they can fudge off now.

There's no clear way to go from Frank, I don't think we're that bad. Should have got a draw yesterday and probably would have won if Vicario (I don't think there's a clear way to go away from him either to be honest) hadn't had his brain fart. I'm kind of relaxed about this season, just want the youngsters getting minutes and Frank is doing that. It was a poor sub taking Bergval off as he was the one picking the passes and opening the game up, Sarr had no impact at all. I think giving a manager time is more important than the actual manager at this stage. Frank has proved he's an intelligent and effective guy. In a couple of years I think we'll be a reliable Top 4-6 team whoever the manager is, the youngsters need to mature and grow together.

Having said all that I don't go to games and the paying home crowd are not gonna be at all happy with this home record (and rightly so).

I think Lange probably advocates for him to stay until European football is absolutely out of the question.

I’m all about giving managers time. I’ve wanted to give every manager since Jol probably longer. I think it’s always about knowing what the manager is building towards though. I want Frank to succeed, but in games we’re expected to win, there are no other ideas than getting it wide and crossing. I just don’t think that cuts it. And I don’t think he’s suddenly to change that idea. We might execute it better. But it’s just not enough. Arguably there’s a secondary idea of pressing high and getting in that way, but we rarely do it well.

It would be a lot easier to buy into what he’s building towards if what we’d seen so far looked like it was about to click. I don’t believe even with Deki and Dom back that this football suddenly gets more effective. I think we’ll still pick up points when worse teams give us space away from home, but we need to do something fundamentally different than just looking for crosses for the majority of the home games we’re expected to win. And we’re now in December…we’ve seen no indication that Frank really wants to do that.

Did Ange need to go? We were doing better at this stage last season under him. I think if he stayed, we probably get less away points. But we almost certainly get more home points and are doing better overall.

We finished 17th last year - in the last place above relegation; we are currently 9th. What do you call that?

The stat is misleading in the sense it suggests we were very close to relegation. 5 (or maybe 6) times prior in the Premier League we have finished approx 6 points about the drop zone and higher up the table. What were we last season, 13 points above the last relegation place? Facts are indeed facts, and 17th is really poor, but context is everything. We were never close to relegation, indeed, we have been much closer on at least 5 other occasions.

I don't know how thing work at the Goons, but Levy said in an interview sacking manager is a collective board decision it wasn't down to him so it won't just be down to Vinai.

As for Frank, I'm all for giving him time but you have to see what you're giving time for - not just do it for the sake of it. Every manager thats been here successful or not, I've been able to see what they want and trying to achieve and what style they are looking to play. With Frank after 5 months to still have no clue what that is, except chuck it in the box is fudging concerning - the football has been crap since the opening few games which was clearly the new manager bounce.

I honestly thought the Goons match was rock bottom, but there's nothing to suggest he is going to turn it around or has the players with him and there's little other than blind faith to go on. If Glasner gave an indication he'd come at this stage, I would twist right now. But in all likelihood will just have to accept this crap football for the season and take stock from there.....

Your childish impatience for instant glory (shared by other fans) is one of the biggest problems with this clubs mentality.

'Instant glory', my GHod, are you joking???? I don't give a fudge about 'instant glory' what I want is a team who play the football that defits the Tottenham Hotspur name and a manager who understands what the Tottenham Hotspur ethos is. No, in my opinion, the biggest problem is people who support this club yet don't know what it's heart and soul is. There are MANY who whelped with delight when we got Jose Mourinho because he was 'a winner'. There were a fair few who were happy to see Poch sacked. THERE was a man who got it. Like Jol did to an extent, like Redknapp did to an extent too.

GD was 14 with 27 for and 13 against

This season we are 10th with 18 points
GD is 5 with 21 for and 16 against

Not that I actually care that much (the fact we are currently so poor to watch is of far greater concern) but the comparisons aren't that pretty right now if you want to suggest we are 'doing better'. Statistically we are doing worse, especially when it comes to GD. I've been told that we are 'improved defensively'. We are not. Take this as you wish. I am simply saying that I am being told we are a side who will take 'risks' going forward and that our defending is better when my eyes and the stats say the opposite.

p.s. at this stage last season we had Fraser Forster in goal, VdV and Romero were also both out, Maddison was out, Odobert was out, Richarlison was out. I believe Dragusin was also out.

Somehow we have managed to look more all over the place at the back in a more defensive setup and Frank has had his first choice back 5 available almost always. And we don't need to go into detail about how rubbish the attacking play is.

The excuses being trotted out now have shall we say a little irony to them...
