Oh well, at least it's hard-working; hopefully Young and Welbeck can do some damage on the break.

I really struggle to support England though ... 8 of the 11 starters are from Chelsea, Emirates Marketing Project or Liverpool - the 3 PL teams that I hate the most (yes, more than Arsenal). Young is a diver. I find Welbeck's celebration incredibly irritating for some reason.

I'll be watching more as an interested observer I think.

P.S. Luka was beautiful to watch today. Don't think he got any assists or goals, but it was a superb performance; I wonder (genuinely) what people who criticise him for a lack of goals or assists thought about him today?

Interesting reading your opinions on the Given 'own goal', I'd watch the goal again myself except I think I might cry.

I believed Ireland could go through if they got a win today but now I'm sure we'll be out in the group stage. I hope we keep playing though and hopefully take someone [Italy] down with us.

Really disappointed with Ireland. Never thought they would be this shyte. Croatia were not that good but Ireland badly lacked of any quality to compete. Ireland used to be one of my favourite teams in the 1990s when they were full of top quality players from EPL. But almost all their players are now either past-their best like Keane and Given or average to shyte players.

The haters should give Pavly due respect. Pavly now has 4 goals in Euro and only need :
- 6 goals to overtake Platini as the all-time top scorer in Euro
- 2 more goals to overtake Klinsmann as all-time Spurs top scorer in Euro

  Redknapp makes no secret of the fact he would have taken Ferdinand. He even had an approach rejected by Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson two summers ago and still thinks the 33-year-old is world-class.

  Redknapp rates Hodgson fortunate he can now turn to one of the top performers in the Premier League last season in Lescott.

  And finishing ahead of France, Sweden and Ukraine would land a favourable quarter-final opponent if defending champs Spain perform as expected in Group C.

I've booked half day annual leave, which I thought would be ideal.

Stupid thing is that mate of mine is eager to watch game in a specific bar & I'm not fussed about that place. I'd prefer to watch game at home, able to see the TV, with cheaper snacks & beers.

He talks of the atmosphere that a pub viewing can provide but, to me, that can mean beer spilled over you, unable to see half the screen and idiots talking brick through the game.

It wouldn't have done. However, Bentley scored a FK in the 9-1 IIRC that was very similar and put down as a Kirkland OG. It was later changed to his goal by the dubious goals committee.

IMO, it's a lovely header but not on target, therefore Given OG.
