*** The official 2025/26 Premier League thread ***

I don't know why a hair pull is an automatic red card tbh - is it any worse than pulling someones shoulder or arm or whatever?

we need to get Dragusin on the pitch with his manbun ever-so-slightly tied so as the slightest tug brings it crashing to his shoulders as he collapses in pain. While we're at it, get Richy to wear a manbun wig! He'd con a red-card with ease! Tell Spence to lightly manbun his barnet too, in fact any player who can manbun it should be ordered to do so!!!!!

I still think it's on us. If (yes, big if) we can win our 3 home games + beat Wolves away, I think we'll be ok.
What makes you think we can suddenly go from a 22% win percentage (games to date) to a 67% win percentage (games remaining)?
The Lge leaders currently have a 66% win percentage.

I can see WHam picking up 5-6 PTS. They should be fine.
Forest, possibly only 4.

We need 7-8 to stand a chance. It's hard to see where they come from. 5-6 is doable.
I think it'll come down to us or Forest.

Because choosing hope is always better than the alternative (giving up)
It's not giving up, you fight to end, you hope to stay up, but hope is what got us to where we are now.
Everything currently points to us going down, our form and the form of those around us.
You accept that currently that is how it stands, you do your best to change it.

I believe a few things:
We get one win and the entire outlook will change
We can’t be this bad much longer (surely!)
We just need something to go our way. Like the penalty vs Sunderland, or us scoring a goal like they did.

It’s a long way from over.

The penalty wasn't a penalty - don't get those in the VAR era.
Things like a lucky deflected goal are what we need.
I expected beating Athletico to be a catalyst, but it hasn't materialised.
If we scrape a couple of draws, something like the Chelsea game might be what we need - a real shot to nothing which we step up for.
I don't like our odds in the dog fight though.
Hopefully balancing EL and PL is just too much for Forest.

Re; winning 4 from 6 - that would be quite something! Unfortunately wishful thinking won't make it happen. 3 wins from 6 would be a very good return.
Only Arsenal, City and Villa have won more than 50% of their games this season! (Which is quite a remarkable statistic)

The biggest thing to go our way is some ref decisions. The penalty being overturned was correct and it's not the reason we are where we are, but imho Brobbey escaped two yellow cards on Sunday. 1) for The reckless challenge on Romero before Romero was then booked and 2) for the deliberate push on Romero which then caused serious injuries to both Kinsky and Romero. I am still angry 😡

VAR and the ref only cared about the Alderete part of the challenge and complete ignored the fact that O'Nien came in and took out his left leg. Anywhere else on the pitch it's a foul, so I think we were very unlucky to see it overturned. Especially given some of the brick that's gone against us this season.

Same with Udogie's too, the fact O'Nien stood on his calf and then clotheslined him was totally overlooked

Hate to break it to you, but the bubble you are in isn't the same one we are competing in.
We have to play the real world, not idealism
