The Official 2023/24 Premier League Thread

Just is a bit odd though statistically given that there is a relatively clear correlation between league position and number of penalties (correlation of 0.54 so a moderate correlation between position and number of penalties but doesn't show causation - do more penalties improve your position or do teams who play stronger, winning football earn more penalties?). We are certainly a strong outlier at one end either way.

Touches in the opposition box

Emirates Marketing Project 1217
Arsenal 1197
Tottenham 1120
Liverpool 1119
Brighton 935
Aston Villa 923
Chelsea 900

We are obviously doing something wrong.

Usually the better teams spend more time in the opponents box.

I was about to slate Pep for dropping Foden after a hat-trick, but I suppose that goal makes up for it. Personally would have still started Foden and got the game wonm then take him off
