how is wenger on a decline?

Very publicly losing it when the going gets tough, unable to find a solution for their pansy midfield, more flops in his signings than ever, lost the public support that he used to ride on.

He'll still outthink a lot of 'English-style' managers, but the PL is improving tactically while he's staying still.

I think he won at least some of it back by finishing 3rd, but yeah he's not as highly thought of as he used to be.

He's always been suspect when it comes to tactics, his strength is he's a great spotter of talent, even if his signings haven't been as good in recent years.

At worst, he's in top 3 when it comes to the best PL managers.

i dont think he out thinks anyone on a game to game basis, but he has Arse playing a certain pass and move style that is still too good for lots of teams. Its a style that runs thru the club, is worked on in training and it gets them results

i dont agree personally

this whole thing is philosophical at its core.

wenger isnt exactly staying still..he has a style he wants to play and he plays it irrespective of opposition. he was the guy that came over and really had the greatest impact as far as introducing a new style of play in the country and making the premiership as a whole really stand up and take notice as o how a few adjustments can really generate good performance and results

you say he's staying still? but there is nowhere vfor him to go right now and people are catching up cause they were so far behind and having him here year in year to play against doesnt nothing but imporve teams tactically and professionally. Add to that , his pieces for his team arent as trong as it used to be

i agree with the first bit you mention but you could say that wenger has never been calm when losing

and i'm not so sure he's signing flops for the money he's shelling out. Most first team purchases contribute signififcantly

im sorry but no other manager apart from fergie could have got that arsenal team to third. they were utter brick, their defence all over the place, they lost their big named players last summer, and STILL finished third. they went on a stupid run and won 9/10 games didn't they? call him a **** cause he is, but dont deny his quality. if he was in charge of our squad we'd finish 5 points off the title.

also he managed over a stadium move which was no easy feat. when we move to a new stadium and are up to our eye balls in debt we'll see how the board/manager cope. very easy to praise people when we're doing well but you see who's the best when under pressure. the youth project failed miserably on the pitch but off the pitch its been a success, they're making money and starting reinvest that properly. why didn't we bid for cazorla? would have loved him here.
