That's ignoring their 5th round FA Cup tie against Liverpool too. But, for their good, they will get all the tough games over in one patch and then going back to trying for a successful period of form to end the season with. Might not be the worst thing for the club that has happened, in as much as they can get those fixtures out of the way.

Seriously, I may be getting ahead of myself but that match is a must win for us. We can take so much more from it than just the three points. It could be the game that pushes us on and one that deals them a hammer blow.

When is Arsenal not a must win?

We've been so poor against our rivals this season, unless I'm mistaken I count two losses against Arsenal, as well as two losses against ****ing west ham. It'll be a chance for players who were under par to redeem themelves

Im waiting for them to call off tomorrow nights game due to the tube strike, even though there are 2 or 3 mainline stations no more than 10 mins away

what is Uncle Mike saying??or does he only appear when Spurs are 10-12 pts ahead of them:(

Up till this season we hadn't lost a home game to the Spammers since 1999 and those 3pts are currently keeping them out of the relegation zone #-o

Then just to add insult to injury, the last time we lost consecutive home games to them was way back in 1966

Fingers crossed we smash them at the caravan park to get us back up the London mini-league... along with revenge against ARSEnal... plus a first win at Stamford Bridge since 1990 would be the icing on the cake...

Hmmm... so 1 point out of 6 in the first of two of the harder games they have in the next 6/7 weeks or so...

Is this the beginning of the usual downturn?
Or does 1 point off the top in mid-February actually mean they are annoyingly still in rude health?

hmmm what will be will be, I think its pointless getting giddy, even if they get knocked out of the cups by Pool & Bayern as then they will recover and focus on the league and nail that ucl spot.

Judging by what I saw the other night that beating by pool has shaken them and they played not too lose....I think they come up short against the top teams but will always smash the dross.

I will only get excited if they get knocked out of both cups and then start dropping points to the poo poo teams!!!! could be that the NLD may be relevant when it comes round....basically I would be more happy if Sunderland can get something at the emirates.....not likely though.

Bets with Gooners at present, summary:

- "Arsenal to beat Liverpool at Anfield in league 'cause Liverpool don't know how to deal with Arsenal" (£5)
- "Arsenal to beat both Liverpool and Manure in league building confidence for cup games" (£20)
- "Arsenal to beat Spurs in NLD in March" (6-pack of Supermalt for me or Bottle of Mount Gay rum for Gooner..)
- "Arsenal to win the Premier League" (£100)

So far so good...hoping Spurs keep the trend going[-o<

Ha. I had to google that to see if it was a real drink.

(PS. make sure to add the 'rum' bit when you are googling)

Jose bashes wenger.......pelligrini first, now arsene.......he just loves it!

BBC SPORT

Arsene Wenger is a "specialist in failure", according to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

The Blues boss was responding to the Arsenal manager's claim the Premier League title is "Chelsea's to lose".
Chelsea hold a one-point advantage over the Gunners, with Emirates Marketing Project a further two points back.
Under Wenger, Arsenal have not won a trophy since 2005 and Mourinho said: "Eight years without a piece of silverware, that's failure."
The Portuguese manager, who won the Premier League twice in his first spell as Chelsea manager between 2004 and 2007, has won league titles in four different countries as well as the Champions League with Porto and Inter.
The last trophy Wenger won was the FA Cup in 2005, and Mourinho says his current employers would not tolerate so long without silverware.
"He is a specialist in failure," said Mourinho. "I'm not. So if he is right and I am afraid of failure it is because I didn't fail many times.
"The reality is he's a specialist because eight years without a piece of silverware, that's failure. If I do that in Chelsea, eight years, I leave and don't come back."

if there's one likable thing about Mourinho it's his dislike of Wenger

hope this doesn't gee the Scum up for the run in though

Mourinho owns Wenger in the mind games stakes.

does he really tho?

99% of the time, the manager who looks clever with their remarks are the ones that have winning teams. its difficult to come up with good one-liners when your team isnt top.
and ill also add that when both wenger and fergie's teams were top, i always thought wenger came off better in interviews.

and finally, mourinho just gets personal with his insults. and massively lacks class imo. the likes of pelegrini, guardiola and wenger remain classy despite the noneseness mourinho gives them. and for that i can only praise those managers, and cannot agree with you that mourinho owns wenger in the mind games stakes.

I dislike Mourinho, but I really dislike Wenger!

Wenger's attempt to psyche out the managers of City and Chelsea are ill advised for me.

Wenger never having beaten a Mourinho side suggest he does slightly have the upper hand.

I disagree strongly with the suggestion that Wenger stays classy too.

Wenger is "classy" so long as everything is going well for him. The moment things start to turn sour he becomes an ****. Evasive in post match interviews, hates giving credit to the opposition too, he usually lambasts his own team as if the other team had little to do about taking a point/points off Arsenal.

I think any fallout or mind games between the managers of the top 4 is beneficial to us!!!

You wonder about Wenger......at certain stages when the sun shines everything is rosy...the football is nice and the results keep on coming...... then when some adversity hits he seems to lose belief and so do his players....the other night they were scared of losing to united...the fear was evident from the coaching staff to the players....you wont win titles like that.

Of course I am not going to make any grand predictions on what will happen to Arsene & his team over the coming months...that would be foolish given past events.....what I will say is that if I were a gooner......which I thank every GHod in the known universe I am not!!!! I would be very worried at this moment in time judging by what I have seen in the last two games.

I wouldnt say Mourinho is super clever but he does have impecable timing in what he says and when he says it. The fa cup tie is massive for them this weekend....if I were him I wouldnt rest to many key players even with Bayern in mind.....another defeat by Liverpool and all the old 'out of every cup by february worries will surface again and Bayern will make short work of them.

Personally I hope both Chelsea/city...other lot/pool both go to replays..... this could only be good for us.
