The Future Squad

So at end of season it will likely look like this

First 11 -> Vicario, Porro, Romero, VDV, Udogie, Bentancur, Sarr, Maddison, Son, Richi, Deki
Bench -> Forster, Royal, Dragusin, Davies, Sess, Bissouma, Skipp, Lo Celso, Solomon, Johnson, Werner

Highlighted being ones with questions on future

Only deadweight left -> Ndombele
Assuming Gil, Spence, PEH move on, loans continue for some of the Academy, Philips & Veliz

Summer focus? quality CM and perhaps striker (depends on Werner and Richi's work for rest of season

p.s. fully fit, is this the deepest squad we have ever had?

Possibly. But due to european football being in recession, most teams in the prem probably have their deepest squads ever.

what about Solomon?

24/25 assured :

GK : Vicario - ???
RB : Porro - ???
LB : Udogie - ???
CB : Romero - Dragusin
CB : VdV - Davies
CM : Sarr - Bissouma
CM : Bentancur - ???
AM : Maddison - ???
RWF : Kulusevski - Johnson
LWF & CF : Son - ??? - ??? - ???

Question marks

GK : Forster most likely a certainty what with the new contract tbf but only a short term option.
RB : i think we'll be on the look out for a more natural cover for Porro than Royal.
LB : not sure we'll roll the dice on Sessegnon again so probably on the look out for an upgrade there.
CM : think it's clear we looking to upgrade on PEH, Skipp will possibly get a place what with being club trained (and hopefully back in Europe)
AM : Kulu could be seen as direct cover for Maddison after his recent run of games but wouldn't be surprised to see a specialist cover player brought in, onjuries and contract probably means GLC will have done too little too late for us to stick with.
LWF/CF : Richarlson still has it all to prove, Werner could earn himself a squad place next season if not a starting place and Veliz may or may not be deemed ready to play understudy so we could be in the market for 1 up to 3 players here

Re your question marks

GK - agreed, long term #2 needed, probably summer of 25
RB - I could see Royal having a Davies career with us, very versatile, works his nuts off, model Pro. I think the risk is someone who needs a RB comes in and makes an offer
LB- Summer priority, Sess moved on (not a believer)
CBs - as mentioned
CMs - replacement for Skipp/PEH needed
AM - GLC questions, fitness, we can get money, but is there a better backup for how much?
WFs - Johnson, Deki, Solomon, Werner, Richi all have the same issue, regardless of attributes, at least 2 of them need to start scoring regularly, who doesn't is at risk
ST - Son to get extention, Veliz on loan

I think this summer is LB, CM upgrade on Skipp/PEH, goalscorer (either WF/#9), so 3 needed, at least one needs to be more than depth (likely #9)

Sigh.... You are missing the point.
It's not about him backing the manager (anymore). It's about backing the manager more quickly than he is doing.

Watch out for those moving goalposts.

Any signing that doesn't work out is obviously Levy buying players the manager didn't actually want.

This is very quick. How many teams in the prem have brought in players? Brighton got one. Has anyone else?

2 players in and likely available for the 2nd game since window opened ..

People complaining about that .. sigh .. humanity ...

People really are letting their bias/agenda make them look stupid, if you don't accept that we are in a fabulous stadium that puts us on a sustainable spending power par with the rest of the league, have a great management team in place, had the gonad*s to appoint a top tier unproven manager despite being under a lot of pressure to win something, made some great signings to back the manager, and got the transfer business done early.

We can get away with those 3 signings and still be in a good place but i don't think we'll rest on our laurels there - i think we'll upgrade where possible to the best that our budget allows, so of the 7 or 8 squad positions i highlighted i think we're likely to see around 5 or 6 in/out.

Edit : to say i think we may go big on one signing if we're looking for a starter (most likely CF/LWF depending on how we see Son)
