The Cricket Thread

Up early for a physio appointment so watching the end of the days play..

Tendulkar and Gambhir out, nice way to start the day. Dhoni come in early in place of a debutant.

Risky move that.

India 298/8 at stumps, 30 odd behind..

Kohli with 103, Dhoni run out for 99...

Tomorrow is a big big day, England coming on strong in the last hour...

Yeah thought Kohli and Dhoni were going to bat the day out, you're in driving seat now.

Gutting to see Dhoni being run out for 99.

No good moaning about a decision India, Dhoni should be fined for having a go at the umpire.
They can hardly feel hard done by for the umpire missing the slightest nick, when they've benefitted from two howlers for Cook.

Great test innings by Trott to guarantee the draw. Series win in India for the first time in about 30 years.

Well played boys, great way to end the year. Here's hoping 2013 is a special one, with two Ashes series to come!

Captain cook rubbing it in a bit at the presentation.

Too many trophies for him to hold, he had to leave one behind..

The more knowledgeable cricket fans I work with (here in Melbourne) see this result as significant ahead of the Ashes. England showed character, fight and talent in winning from 0-1 down in India.

Gutting, nothing more to look forward to for a while beyond OZ in Feb test series wise. Champions Trophy should be good.

Not for the Indian games there isn't.

India V Pakistan 2020 on Christmas day should be interesting.

Woke up at 5am and couldnt sleep so was watching some of the Aussie's vs Sri Lanka 2nd test..

Lets be honest the Sri Lakan's are hopeless, but some of the Aussie comentary was laughable it was like they had beaten us or SA 5-0, reality check coming up soon for the Aussie's

RIP Greigy, wasnt everybodies cup of tea but had a massive part in making cricket what it is today

Some good tributes on twitter

"Example of Greig's panache & courage. Signalling his own fours while making 110 against Lillee/Thomson at their fastest at Brisbane '74."

Also Mike Hussey is retiring from Oz after the 3rd test, thats a massive loss for Oz and a massive help for us in retaining the Ashes in the summer
