The 2014/15 Results Comparison Thread

Interesting how so many people on this board hail Rodgers and Martinez.

Watching Everton's last few games, I would be worried if I was a fan, in Europa they mugged those wins (were under the cosh for long periods), Lukaku is invisible for long periods and they have a fair amount of older legs in that squad now, 2nd half of season could be rough.

Behind the guy who got fired on both points and positions ..

Oh well, at least we can laugh at ****ing Pool & Everton (maybe a trend re young/inexperienced managers?)

Two points. That's one draw turned into a win.

Both Rodgers and particularly Martinez have often been mentioned as managers we should have gotten instead of AVB.

Hence my laugh .. I'm beginning to think that young/inexperienced managers really have no place at the top level in this league, player management, pressure, rotation, timing of runs, response to bad results/form is not things that a top level club can afford to have a manager doing on the job training.

Giving them full freedom is suicide. Too much money wasted on duds.

I really don't think AVB got fired just because of his points total or league position...

And it wasn't his first season in charge.

But let's not get bogged down in context.

Even if we comprehensively beat UTD tomorrow, the media would still beat one out over them. We on the other hand would be labelled fortunate to be catching UTD when they have only 48 hrs rest.

Conveniently not mentioning the fact that we also only had 48 hours rest, of course.

Was Saurez really a 14 point difference over 18 games in Pool's side?

And what's holding Everton back this year? Is age becoming a factor with them? I seem to recall their squad is pretty old as a whole

Looking at that shows Poch in general is doing better than he did last year at Southampton by a point.

If we keep it up though, no reason as to why we can't challenge for top four. It'll be hard, it'll be tough but hey to dare is to do right?

Don't forget Suarez missed a handful of their opening games. Whilst not as much of a loss, I feel they desperately miss Sturridge who also won them a lot of games last year
