Someone Spurs fan Twitter mentioned how overrated Modric is because in his past 2 seasons he has got 7 goals and 8 assists.

Yet Moutinho has 3 goals and 12 assists in a weaker league. I think it's unfair to judge Modric on goals and assists as it's not his job. Most of our goals end up coming from Modric's passing to Lennon or Bale or even to Adebayor etc. You should be comparing Alonso's stats perhaps, or Pirlos etc.

Not that Im saying he is or isnt a makeweight or its even an option, but I wouldnt read into his comments to much in all honesty.

He cannot be seen to be too keen to leave can he? If he makes the move "grudgingly" Madrid could be more likely to make it worth his while. Equally Spurs might offer more to convince him.

Alternatively, if he is saying "Yeah! Great! Im outta here!" and it falls through it leaves him in an awkward position.

IMO being negative/anti is the safest position for him, whether he means it or not. So what can you really read into those comments?

what Modric doesnt do regularly enough is boss games, completely control games which is what he should be doing considering the role he has in teams. He should be compared to Xavi in terms of role and the possible effect he can have. Xavi controls games, and if Modric went to Madrid i think that is what Mourinho will expect from him

I know, i don't think we should hold Modric against his will, but we'd be in the same position if Sahin came. A player who doesn't want to be here.


Much rather have the money and buy players who want to be here.

I was listening to talksport(I know) and some idiot Spurs fan basically said the same and even went on to say he's not in the same bracket as Tim Cahill or Steven Gerrard ](*,)
 
Modric is wanted by Madrid, Utd, Chelsea and has been linked to City and Baca, and the reason is because he is one of the best CM in the world. Any fan who thinks he is overrated has not been watching him closely.

I like Sahin (based on youtube footage only) but he can't be forced to come to Spurs. If he comes here that means he wants to or has been convinced to, so I wouldn't worry about his attitude if he did arrive.

It does show he's open to a move somewhere if the rumour is to be believed, so why not here?

Not necessarily. Someone said "So our three strikers will be Ade, Defoe and Kane?" with jetset replying "Take one of those out and add two in".

Yes, Defoe going leaving Kane and Adebayor.. 2 more to come in. Sherwood has said he doesn't plan to send Kane on loan, he's been to the Championship and doesn't see the value of that again (yet).

You are right, and the problem with assists is it relies on someone scoring. Modric has more 'key passes' than David Silva, top of the league actually.. but a low assist stat. It's because he's involved in the move just not the final ball. Same applies to Moutinho.
