Subway.. What no bacon!?

If that's the case SuperHudd, why on earth do you care about Halal meat served in Subway? Surely as a purveyor of richly sourced meat you wouldn't ever venture into a fast food joint?

I care about everything I eat.. as I said I don't trust the journey of Halal meat and its not 100% stunned.

I did not know that Halal meat had become so entrenched into the food chain. Its been a bit of a shocker for me tbh. As I have got older I am more able to dine out than have takeaways. There was a group of us who went into subway on the way to the cricket, I wouldn't normally frequent one, hence why I said on the way to the cricket.

Remember also, I just started my allotment.. organic growing. http://www.glory-glory.co.uk/showthread.php/5689-Garden-My-Allotment

Surely you remember my BBQ thread from last summer. http://www.glory-glory.co.uk/showthread.php/4678-BBQ (AuroRaman you may be converted)

Oh yeah.. also my Christmas food thread.. http://www.glory-glory.co.uk/showthread.php/5459-Christmas-food

If I could, I'd love my own little freeholding.. 10 pigs.. 5 cows.. 30 chickens would do.

I have even thought about moving my shopping to Morrisons as they own there own farms.

Thanks Bud. I see where you are coming from here. I think what confused me initially was which angle you were coming from in terms of 'care' of the animals during the process, and which was something another poster alluded to earlier. Obviously my views, much to the chagrin of Scara ;) are that of the compassionate care of the animals. There are awful undercover videos out there showing how horrifically they are treated whilst still living. And I guess your views are that of once stunned/killed, the meat as a product should be ethically processed and not tampered/modified with? Or am I still getting it wrong?

I'll have a re-read of the BBQ thread. Just so you're aware, I was a full-on meat eater until 8 years ago, so I don't think i'll be re-converted :)
