Starting X1 for next season if don't sign anybody else?

So if everyone is fit, Modric is sold, and we don't sign any more players (i still think we're gonna sign a striker btw) what would your starting X1 be? (formation and personnel)?

Bale is a LW so play him LW. Modric obviously has to play. You have to have a CF in there so Defoe plays even if not ideal. I'd play Kab and Vert as CBs as I would want them to build a long term partnership. Sigurddson on the bench

You've got to have Huddlestone in there if Modric isn't playing. Sandro and Parker just won't work.

I really think Hudd can be like a new signing this season, even if we keep Modric or bring in a top class replacement for him.

Sandro and Parker in the middle with no target man to hoof the ball to would make me very sad.
 
i want Thudd fit this season and for him to steamroller the Premier League....love the big fella

A shame really. I think Vertonghen and Kaboul are too similar of players to play together and with Dawson being the new captain I think he'll start. Goalkeepers and full backs won't change, not this season anyway. Huddlestone will come in looking like a new signing and together with Sandro could be a very good partnership, Sigurdsson just ahead of them with VDV and Bale on both sides. It's a bit annoying leaving Lennon as I feel he is our most important player but I think these two would do better in the system AVB has played in the past. Then of course our only decent striker up top.
 
I think Dawson will start too ...Vert's being slowly eased in wouldn't be a stupid thing to do by AVB. I expect to see Daws and Kaboul in the begining.

Could put Defoe in of course, replacing either Sig, VdV or Lennon (VdV moving wide).

That's a pretty good side imo, we need that striker coming in and preferably soon.

A lot of talk about Levy and his brinkmanship, as it is we can put out a pretty strong team, and have decent options on the bench. We need a striker though, if we can bring in a striker in time for the Saudi Sportswashing Machine game the rest of the improvements aren't needed straight away and can be done in the last week or on deadline day if we feel like it.

Bale and VDV playing as inside forwards NOT wingers. Width to come from Walker and BAE.

I do think for that system to really work we need an upgrade on Defoe, a more attacking LB and a more mobile replacement for Modric than Hudd as much as I love the man's passing ability. I think in Bale, Siggy, VDV and a big striker you have LOTS of goals.
