Squad for 2015-16 season

Do you lot reckon that Holtby and Gylfi would be good fits for this side and for Poch's style if they were still around?

I think the big hole in the squad is that there is no like-for-like cover for Dier to play in midfield in his absence. Followed by like-for-like with Kane. Other than that, we look strong.

But no team has like for like cover in every position. The fact that we are just one or two positions kinda short is pretty amazing, if you ask me.

Holtby would be I think. Gylfi isn't as young or mobile and I think when he left us it was possibly a season too soon but it was getting to be the time for him to move on.

One that our current play relys on is shape, discipline and reliability - Holtby offered many things I liked, but none of those

He would be perfect somewhere like Everton

I agree, we have a very good squad. But if we can have good cover for Dier (as in, a defensive midfielder who is comfortable at centre half and keeps our midfield on lockdown in Dier's absence) and Kane, then all the better.

Poch let Holtby go for a reason, so I can't help but think that he wouldn't work out, although I do think he could have done the job that Eriksen is doing at the moment in the side. I don't think Siggy would have fit in with Poch though.

Nope.

Holtby lacked discipline and I think that's why he was let go so soon under Pochettino. A lot of running isn't enough, it has to be done as part of the system.

Sigurdsson also a nope for me. A poor man's Eriksen imo and would at best be Eriksen's backup. But with Alli doing brilliantly, Chadli recovering his form and being a better option on the left than Gylfi I really struggle to see where he would get game time. And without proper game time Gylfi wouldn't be good. Worst case scenario Gylfy would have gotten game time ahead of Alli and thus hindering Alli's development.

Both good players, both good sales.
