***Spurs vs Saudi Sportswashing Machine***, League Cup, 29th October 2025 at St James Park

Only 3 players looked like they were trying to add any tempo to our play - Spence, Sarr, and Bergvall. The rest have slowed the game down or just made shocking decisions. So frustrating to watch

Well I don't think we surrendered at all, we just happened to play a tough opponent whilst carrying two cadavers of our own. I don't think many teams that can win games playing with 9 men.

We did not have more quality than Saudi Sportswashing Machine tonight and they are at home they should bloody beat us.

Complain about bottling, weak mentality or surrendering etc when its actually appropriate. Tonight was not that.

We’ve definitely been better than itv are suggesting, you’d think we should be 5 nil down ! I think they’d already decided on what they were going to say before a ball was kicked.

But also we haven’t deserved to get anything from the game unfortunately, which was quite expected with the team picked and lack of fit options.
 
Defensively we've been poor but I think our back to front football, progressing through the middle of the pitch with some good passing and movement was better tonight than in either of the recent away wins against Leeds and Everton. We just lacked the quality in the front 3 to finish the moves off.

Some good performances out there too and Muani looks a player when fully fit.

These guys are a rung down so lean with whichever way the scoreline is going - regardless of what is happening in front of them. They don’t have the ability or wherewithal to critically think for themselves.

And they support Chelsea and Leeds.

We've fought back on a few occassions this season and haven't folded in any game. Instead of using "surrender mentality" as your go to for every game we don't win maybe comment on what actually happened in the individual game.

We played reasonably well, with some obviously stand out poor performers, the usual Richy atrocious, Johnson pointless and sadly Xavi just over hitting everything. Otherwise the overall play wasn't that bad, just lacking gameplay balance due to the forward portion of the pitch being so poor. We never had a any real concerted periods of pressure but at the same time Saudi Sportswashing Machine didn't exactly overrun us either. It was kind of the predictable result giving the options we had upfront.

I guess in this case my hand won over yours. 🤣😩
