Putin & Russia

Not voluntarily and certainly not under Putin, but long term that should be the goal. The idea that they're still a superpower is a delusion which needs to be ended.

It would take a full scale invasion of Russia and probably nuclear war for Russia to give up their nuclear arsenal, regardless of who is in charge. That’s not a price worth paying to be honest.

So china has banned all coverage of the prem this week. As teams are planning to wear bands in the colours of the ukranian flag.

They will be a much bigger problem than Russia further down the line, but at least we got to take advantage of their cheap labour for some quick profits, while turning a blind eye to anything we didn't like. They're also more than happy to steal patended technology and make similar products that are cheaper. All it takes now is another madman with his eyes on world domination.

It would mean defeating them somehow without ending the world in the process. It's understandable why NATO aren't doing more just yet.

China is facing massive economic problems at the moment. Which could be very bad. We know what dictators do when their economies struggle. With all eyes on ukraine they might see an opportunity.

Think this has to be one of the most dangerous moments to humanity in history.

Vlads gone completely batbrick.

He has already committed so many war crimes. Whatever happens from here on out -he’ll be an internationally wanted war criminal, so there’s no incentive at all for him to restrain himself any further.

No doubt he will at least use chemical weapons and blame it on the Ukrainians. Maybe unleash another virus on the world?

If he has to he wouldn’t hesitate to go nuclear either.

“Why Do We Need a World if Russia Is Not In It?”

The Chinese aren't militarily expansionist (beyond Nepal and Taiwan). All their efforts will always be focused on domestic oppression. Economic imperialism - absolutely, but that's really with the intention of enriching their own country

Russia's not part of the International Criminal Court so don't think he cares much.

Aside from that, we're going to see big hits on Commodities, Gas/Oil well known and going through the roof, now agriculturals being hit, Ukraine a big exporter of wheat, if they can't export wheat (which they can't now), then the countries they supply to (Middle East, Africa, Asia) need to go elsewhere, knock on effects will be felt worldwide regardless.

Not insignificant that the US used the term war crime in official communication today.

Tightening the screw before they offer an off ramp?

Really hope there's something to this, although it's a little surprising. Maybe they spent all their money on nukes.

I believe I read somewhere else that the Russian military spending/capacity really isn't much to shout about if it weren't for the nukes. For a country that large, apparently they have a proportionally quite small defence budget - or something along those lines.
