Politics, politics, politics

I never said left or right. I say progressive, we need to innovate. Do you think the wright brothers gave up when they could not get their first planes off the ground?
you said Corbyn that's left /right

You don't trust politicians on brexit but you do on forced sterilisation, shows either a lack of thought or something else

I dont trust politicians on anything but someone has to run the country. I said a long time ago brexit wont happen, is what it is, we just have to move on with life. We need to change from tuition fees to a graduation tax, we need to look to renewable energy and we need to have a conversation about sterilisation and how it can benefit the country.

Just because I dont trust politicians does not mean that I think we should stop all government and no longer bring out any new policy ideas.

Comparable ? 8.2m population, probably would compare to London as it is federal

Welfare at a local level http://www.migraweb.ch/en/themen/sociale-sicherheit/sozialhilfe/

Minimum wage at a local level

Are you suggesting moving to a federal UK?

I thought we were, the amount of chavs, white and black who ask me when I come back from London after a night game if I have seen any "feds" I just assumed we were now.

It is families like this that should not be allowed to reproduce, their children actually be given a chance in life by given a proper education and structure and discipline.

The millions of families in the same economic position should be sterilised based upon a government metric when they can't even sort out universal credit .. Collateral damage? You need to proactively select the scum bags... I am done this idea is sick, we did it before and it was evil the least worst option is look after the consequences.

well we agree, you have to select the scumbags. Just like how I think Euthanasia is a good thing the has to be checks and balances to make sure it has been done properly and you select good candidates, courts and judges could get involved. If nothing else it will send a signal out to the toe rags and having their balls chopped off wont be seen as quite the badge of honour that an asbo is.

I've always been in support of smaller, more relevant government. I've said many times that the South East should be free of the shackles of all the brick parts of the country. Realistically that's unlikely, but I think it would work.

We already have local councils competing with each other over council tax, I would be perfectly happy for them to do so with all other taxation.

The national government could set a maximum tax rate of 10-12%, take its own proportion and allow regions to tax anything up to the maximum. As far as I can see, he highest income tax rate there is lower than even the £40k tax rate here. VAT and CT are lower and health insurance is next to nothing - it's about £50 per month

If you're going to introduce a brand new paradigm go for the best

We don't agree it's sick. My point was even if you wanted the scum bags we are incapable of doing it. If it was to save money on the welfare state then its likely to cost more with the checks and balances. All that's left is it would give you pleasure :confused:

well some good comes out of it then

OK it's just what you want... Why not move to Switzerland if that's your goal

They want megabucks earners. My Son did a secondment there some years back. He loved it but was a pauper compared to Swiss accountants, as was the guy from the Boston working with him which surprised me.
Great place but I had to sleep in my car one night as they closed the hotel at night!

I see that Ken Clarke has said he will vote for May's deal. That's quite interesting imo, he is the arch remainer in Parliament (he didn't vote for Article 50 to be triggered, probably the only Tory MP who didn't).

It's because the deal is BINO. Ummana and the Blairites will also get behind it if they had any sense.

Never bought into the cuddly Ken line, he’s a paid shill for big tobacco and has no redeeeming features beyond being pro-EU. But still, odd.

He’s not a second referendum advocate - presumably because he’s a fan of parliamentary sovereignty - and I guess the only practical remainist reason to vote it down is to trigger a people’s vote. Presumably he’d genuinely scared that we’d end up crashing out, and thinks that a BRINO could be negotiated after March. I don’t see how we could get to that without a change of government though.
