Politics, politics, politics

Exactly the same thing would apply to the Tories and the Lib Dems and UKIP. So your point is what exactly?
Are you replying to my post?

If so, the Lib Dems aren't an extremist party to start with - so there's little danger to the country other than some dithering. They would also be in a coalition rather than a supply/confidence deal which means they wouldn't be able to hold the government to ransom over every single major issue - there would be clear boundaries as to what they had a free vote on. They wouldn't be able to hold the country to ransom at a budget vote, etc.

UKIP are an irrelevance - they'll be lucky to pick up more than one seat, maybe two or three. They won't have enough power with those votes to influence anything much at all.

And Alex Salmond has said it was a joke, just more hogwash from you blue eyed boy on lady gardenter.
Of course he said it was a joke - he doesn't have any other option. There's truth in jest though and what he said was true - he would be able to control Labour as much as he liked.

If Cameron said publicly that he thought all peasants were qunts but later said it was a joke - I doubt you'd be so believing.

It all depends what you want to believe ( and we all know your one eyed view of politics). :)

I don't think I'm alone (and I'm not just talking about my part of the political spectrum) in thinking that Salmond cannot be trusted, that his party are an extremist one and that they want to exert far more than their fair share of power over decisions in which they have no right to be involved.

What did I say about desperation? Poor old Sscara is really crapping his pants at the prospect of a government that might just stop the wealth re-distributive policies of the Tories ie from poor to rich.

Just how are the SNP extremist? Sound like your garden variety democratic socialists too me. Now UKIP. that's another matter. If it's close, than even their one or two seats could be very important. Tories seem to be comfortable with the idea of a coalition with that rabble of misfits and right wing renegades.

They're every bit as far left of centre as UKIP are right. For a country where most of the electorate are fairly centrist both could fairly be described as extreme.

We can remove the extreme tag from the SNP if you like but you don't get to use it for UKIP - you can't have it both ways.

Ha, ha, okay fair enough.

Of course it was, but it shows how desperate Cameron is becoming.
I think you're missing the point. There's no way that Nigel Farage or Natalie Bennett could have made that joke - it would neither have been funny nor relevant.

Salmond can make that joke because he will (in all likelihood) be able to exert huge amounts of pressure on a Labour government desperate to get back into power.

I am not missing the point, Cameron used it because he thought some idiots would believe it to be true and fact.

Isn't Brighton green?
yes it f*cking is, and sadly likely to stay that way thanks to the student vote, which is why the green council have allowed the universities to double in size over the next few years without building any more halls of residence. In a city with a housing shortage.
