The region of Palestine and Transjordan.
One of those went on to become a country. The other remained a region.

That might turn out well though if Trump and Netanyahu keep their grubby fascist hands out. Follow more a path like Syria seems to have begun.
Theirs should always have been top of the lost of dictatorships to remove.
