Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Given that the election is almost 4 years away it’s all subject to a massive margin of error. Who knows what the world will look like by then - or who the leaders of Labour and the Conservatives will be (it certainly won’t be Badenoch or Starmer).

I await mass demonstrations in London, and Jeremy Corbyn and Owen Jones leading the marches.

The campaign was about wanting to return the UK to a mythical 1950s version of itself, or living within the reality of the 21sr Century. Unfortunately people were narrowly hoodwinked into voting for the former.

His tattoos have a higher IQ than he does.
On EU referendum actually the campaign in my view was about the opposite. The EU was essentially a post-war concept - integration of European economies and politics to end conflict in Europe via interdependence. However, its no longer fit for purpose. E.g. in the 1970s when we entered we did over 50% of our trade with other member countries and the other members were similar economies. The 21st century reality is that the UK got less and less back from what it put in, did only about 40% of its trade with EU countries and the EU had morphed out of all recognition to what we initially joined with more and more "developing" southern and eastern european states entering with high levels of corruption and cheap mass labour. And more and more legislative competencies were being transferred to European authorities and institutions of which the public are less engaged, undermining in my view the fundamental principles of democracy.

The EU is an institution and concept of the 1950s.

What has Norfolk done to deserve this sex pest immigrant they are now being made to house? Surely we can send him back to Germany, like we got to do with the Ethiopian guy this week?

I've got visions now of him having to go round King's Lynn knocking on doors like The Jesus in Big Lebowski. "Hello, I'm Andrew Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and I'm legally obliged to inform you that I have recently moved into your neighbourhood."

This really is not why most people voted for Brexit. Which is what the discussion was here

One part is, Jaywick, it's been like that for 30 years, not one government has done too much to help the Jaywickians

Would help presumably if the MP for the area raised it though wouldn't it? Plenty of PM Questions are constituency based as are other opportunities (such as Communities and Local Government Questions) but the Grifter has mentioned Jaywick once in his year in office and Clacton only 3 times (both once in his maiden speech). Hardly seems he is pushing anything to improve the lot of his constituents. He has spoken 45 times. Farage didn’t show up to key votes on planning reform, renters’ rights, and the winter fuel allowance, all of which I would imagine have significant impact on his constituents.

He hasn't held an in-person constituency surgery despite admitting he wasn't told not to for security reasons, instead he does them via Zoom. Be interested to know how many of the most deprived Jaywickians are on-line given that the greatest correlation for internet access at home is economic so the most deprived area presumably will have more than the national average 7% not on-line so having no access to their MP.

As a comparison both Clacton and even Jaywick have had many more average per annum mentions since 1979 than Farage has bothered with. Been a conservative/UKIP hotbed for all bar 4 years so the ignoring of local needs is rooted in the origins of his party.

It doesn’t matter here, the majority of people here on the local social media pages are absolutely hook, line and sinker on his flimflam. It’s sad to see, all of them posting “Reform is the only way!” Despite the fact neither he, nor they can tell you a single policy they have outside of “more white, less brown”. They will all be crying when they get in and sod all changes for them. Make me annoyed to love amongst them.

I’ll be honest, the roundabout painting flag wavers will say “good, go then” but I’m actually a bit ashamed to be British at the moment, I’m usually patriotic about my county… more the helping others, volunteering and community bits than the painting street furniture bit. I’m finding that difficult to do at the moment though, the amount of just out and out racism that’s come back onto daily life because of the way these absolute lying grifters have legitimised it again is sickening.

Saw a post yesterday, young Asian lad had gone missing up north, the comments are full of laughing emojis, and comments about “one less” and how he shouldn’t be here anyway. This country is absolutely in the gutter, and we’re heading toward a bunch of absolute racist, loud mouth idiots lining up to vote for more of it, because they honestly believe it will solve our problems.

Sheeeesh
