Podcasts

Just finished a true crime one on BBC sounds called Lost at Sea . Was a good listen about the disappearance of a Fishery’s observer in the pacific. Enjoyed it as it was a dive into a world I never knew existed.

Also regularly listen to a couple of Others
We Have Ways and The Rest is History.
Both have numerous episodes if you’re into history.
Doomsday Watch is also a fascinating listen thanks to Rorschach for the heads up on that one.

Matthew Sayed podcast Sideways also has some good episodes . Recently he done a 3/4 parter on Nuclear war.

I think so to . Thing the podcast goes into is he’s not the first and won’t be the last. The seas are the Wild West.

Yeh and usually there are tell signs if someone gone over by accident or suicide from.what this article said. Like you said happened loads before and will continue too. Fascinating if sad story

I'm quite new to pods but have really enjoy Quickly Kevin, will he score?, even though I'm not / wasn't a Josh Widdicombe fan.

It's a great look back at 90s footballs and the era in general, it's had some great guests who are really open about some of the inner goings on at the time.

my pods:

Spurs:
  • View from the Lane
  • Rule the roost
  • fighting rooster
  • extra inch

News & politics
  • FT News Briefing
  • The Bunker
  • Payne's Politics (FT)
  • Oh GHod what now?
  • The rest is politics
Couple of F1 podcasts too and a few more.

Other than this boards podcast I avoid Spurs casts as 99.9% are run by self interest or those inflating their importance.

The Extra Inch has some guy called Nathan who pretends to work in the game as a tactics guy but has no history of it, that is it Windy is an oddball too. The likes of Savva and Bobspur, that macaron Expressions and Stelios just put me off Spurs casts forever. Weird network of people that either want to moan about the club or get freebies.

it's funny i have thought the same, not specifically about Nathan alone, others too, but like, people who are not experts in their day to day job talking like they are experts in this field. Someone in IT talking about pressing from the front... weird.

Yeh and it's not like a forum where we vent, I have heard many say "it's actually my job" when clearly it's not. That Nathan specifically claimed he was advising clubs on tactics and players....which he isn't.

Lots of inflated egos in the market and TBH I wanna hear intel on spurs and maybe some Spurs history but most are teenagers lying about their jobs or losing the plot that we didn't sign Bastoni

Are you sure and can you be more specific? He has spoken about how he cannot hold down a normal 9-5 due to health (e.g. ADHD or whatever diagnosis, I can't remember) so he works a lot at night and his "full time" role is on the extra inch podcast and creating content for those channels, funded by their patrons.

No was definitely Nathan, there was a blazing row one day and someone goaded him about his tactics claim and he came out with loads of stuff about how it was "literally my job" and stuff about how he advises clubs who to buy etc.

I don't want to focus too much in on him but he was definitely making stuff up AND TBF he is not alone, there was a guy literally called "The Coach" who, you guessed it, claimed to be a pro coach, again he was not.

There are loads of "personalities" with their quirks out there in Spurs twitter land BobSPUR TV : True Talk - LIVE Call In Show - YouTube my mate sent me this a while back if you go to 3 mins 20 (if you can be arsed) have a laugh and listen to how they talk about themselves and others. Grown arse mean crying like kids about their podcast. Hilarious viewng
