***OMT- Tottenham Hotspur vs Emirates Marketing Project*****

We lost because we didn't keep possession at any point. We just gave it back to them and tried to defend for 90 minutes.

Disappointing but predictable loss, got me £20 as it was clear we wouldn't hold on.

66% pass completion is pathetic. I think my old team done better on Saturdays

Not every one was that bad, Clint Dempsey had more than 80

Bet your team wouldnt do much with the ball against Silva, Toure and Tevez though - or a bunch of 15 year old spanish kids for that matter

Re: Take not AVB - Emirates Marketing Project would have won with any " formation "

Seriously?

Dembele has looked the difference when he has been fit.

Vertonghen looks like a world class defender, though has been overused so is likely tired.

Lloris was a steal and will come good.

Ade is ade.

overall on balance we've done well.

Dembele Hi been quite good ish, sometimes, he has had bad games and we have been bad in midfield when he has played.

He is no means a past the past £16m player the same price as Cazorla. Just saying Lloris will come good, will not make it happen.

On balance I would rather have the £50m , or would much rather have Cazorla, Oscar or Hazard.

Can I ask what the hell was wrong with Bale and Lennon today?? By all accounts they barely showed up. Were City really that good in marking them out of the game and nullifying them??

haha no doubt, but we're not professional footballers but we can sure string passes together accurately. Some of the passes I was saying today from Spurs were borderline atrocious never seen anything like it at the club from Walker to Sandro to Hudd to Lennon. Some real real bad stuff at times.

And what would you do with the 50m? Or how would you expect to pay the wages to cazorla, Oscar, or Hazard? Or offer them CL?

Yes they were (City), and we were missing Dembele.

It's the same as last season and some of the previous games this season.

Bale and Lennon are great when set up in the right positions, but they need the right passes into the right areas at the right time. Neither are the kind of players to drop deep and pick the ball up, play a one-two with someone just to get themselves into a good positions and then start causing real damage to the opposition.

City were very good in their pressure, giving Hudd very little time on the ball and rarely let him pick a pass. Similarly they kept close to Vertonghen and Caulker most of the time as well as making sure they had cover close by when our wingers got the ball.

What we needed was for someone to do something properly good with the ball in the centre of the park, little drop of the shoulder and skip past a player, quick one touch passing to create space or something like that to get us past that first level of pressure City put on us. We didn't have that and the space that was there to be exploited was rarely found.

Instead we were forced into playing long balls and we are still terrible at those.

Thanks for the response and detail. Much appreciated

Tom Carroll...

I know it's absurd to call him 'the answer' but in fairness, we needed a player like him today...

Are you called Marlowe in reference to the detective?

Yes, not the playwright - except the detective was named after the playwright! Kit Marlowe was associated with Dulwich College where Raymond Chandler, and P.G. Wodehouse, were educated!

My real name is Bill!

Really disappointed we lost after leading for so long. Don't think we created enough chances to win this match. But thought we would atleast hold out for a draw. But with our make-shift defence always conceding goals, there was no chance of that againt City's attacking quality. They simply had too much quality while our key players like Bale and Lennon simple couldn't lift their game.

Caulker did well to score with the header. But we had to score the all-important second goal to get something out of this match as we always seem to concede atleast 2 goals against big teams. I think the turning point was when Hudd wasted that shot at goal. If he had scored, we would have gone on to win. Instead we never looked like scoring after that apart from Bale's shot in the 2nd half. For all his skills and workrate, Adebayor didn't threathen City's goal. Wish Defoe came on much earlier.

One positive thing from this match is we were leading City for so long despite missing many regulars. The fact we beat ManU and also took the lead against Chelsea shows our ability to match big teams. But with us missing key players like Kaboul, Dembele and Parker, we will always struggle to win matches. Wish Dembele will return fast.

Now we have lost 3 of our last 4 league matches. It is going to be very difficult against Arsenal next week unless Dembele returns.

For all the ridicule and abuse Mancini receives on here as a manager, often to the degrading level of some two-bob, fudging 'yes man' clown, who was awarded a few Scudetto by default and is merely a muppet putting names down on matchdays:

- he adapted his tactis and approach as the game progressed and looked to win it with positive subs.

- our manager didn't and went defensive (again), refused to acknowledge the reality of us being completely overrun in midfield and essentially playing with 9 men (while carrying the ghosts of Hudd and Dempsey) and we conceded late yet again, like vintage bottlers. We can bring down Moses as manager for all it's worth - nothing will ever change with the loser mindset.

I don't want AVB out - I want him to succeed and be a bit more proactive with his approach and less reactive as far as subs and certain specific games go.

The bias on here sometimes is amazing.

No, the turning point was Walker taking a touch, then passing it to Aguero who promptly went and scored. Or when Daws let Dzeko run in behind him. But not when Tom whistled a 20 yard first-timer past the post by 2 inches with the England keeper beaten.

Not really. The turning point was half time. City barely looked like they'd met each other prior to half time. Afterwards they were a far better side.

The turning point was when the Skeikh bought them - we'll never catch up again.

Let's accept it once and for all, and move on

The turning point was when they went to three at the back and we did not to adjust our own set-up to counteract the extra attacker. IMHO that is.

City are unbeaten at home for just about two full years and only four points dropped since the kickoff of the 2011-12 season.

We did not lose because we blundered. We lost as Jamie R said because of moments of brilliance from a couple of City players who are better than our players. Of course a couple of our players made mistakes leading to the goals but if no players made mistakes there would be no goals.

We have only lost to Chelsea, City and Wigan since the opening day. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011–12_Wigan_Athletic_F.C._season

But..we did not hold on ..again. Whether that is tactics, mentality or ability is the debate.
