+++ OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Sunderland 12th April 2026 +++

I ain’t saying we were good
But I think people need to remember how bad we were under Frank too
Couldn’t agree more, the damage this guy done goes deep. Terrible appointment and those who decided he was the one and then doubled down letting him stay probably 3 months too long when it was obvious to anyone with half a footballing mind he was, to put it politely, floundering, are culpable.

RDZ’s got his work cut out turning this back around, crazy thinking he’d be able to sort this out in 1 tough away fixture.

Apologies, really thought we'd get a result today. Without that clam of a ref I think we may have.
Unfortunate goal to concede but VDV only has himself to blame, too busy with the arms behind his back instead of just closing down the shot.
Still, seen enough today to suggest we can get out of this mess.
Has to start Tel and Simons against Brighton.

Not having a go mate but if only we had Nuno MK2 we wouldn't be in a mess! Karma is going to bite us hard on the a*se this season. Arsenal will win the League, we'll be relegated probably at Stamford Bridge and Nuno Mk1 will keep his team up at our expense. So our 3 biggest rivals will be laughing into their beers. It's going to be awful.
We had Nuno mk2
that’s who Frank was
A guy who didn’t know how to deal with a club like this.
Nuno suits West Ham. Frank will suit another team … but sure who yet, and he will get some results because neither are poor managers. Just not capable here.
We are certainly more likely to get relegated now. No quetsiins
And for me.. and some other… it’s started when the club didn’t react to Frank ball being so so bad. Frank had us playing the way he wanted and was telling the players whatever he did. He should have been fired in November but they didn’t fire him… gave him another 15 games and then the downward spiral gets bigger and bigger and harder to fix

Fair enough; I think there are much deeper issues than the manager at play but it doesn't really matter now tbh. I think @harr1984 put it very well above. I also think injuries and poor recruitment has killed us more than our rivals.

My personal opinion was aligned with @DeanoAustin in that we have bottomed out and are due some wins as we aren't THAT bad as to pick up record low points over such a period.

But if we do go down there seems to be two critical decisions that have sent us down and those decision makers need to pay for it:

1) Keeping Frank after the West Ham defeat - he could easily have been sacked before then but that was the absolute latest he should have gone, West Ham hadn't won a game in 10 until then

2) Appointing Tudor - They should have seen the absolute desperate state we was in and broken the bank for De Zerbi then. Had he got those 4 games he would have had decent time to learn about his players and perhaps/probably got more points.

Whatever happens a lot needs to change, there needs to be serious auditing in various areas of our club....
Frank should have gone after the Arsenal away result when he set us up to not lose and we got spanked… nor because it was Arsenal but because his plan failed again

Tudor was a very odd call and for me was a case of appointing Paratici man after he was gone

Both calls are fully on Vinai and Lange for me who were scared to make the big call and had no idea for the replacement. Way way out of their depth.

Worst thing is I think we’re damned now

We go down and teh owners won’t sell and e what financial issues

We stay up… the Baird won’t sack Vinai and don’t seem to have a clue what to do

There are huge issues
And it starts at the top
I’ve said that repeatedly
Decent football people would have out Frank out his misery much much earlier
The cowards we have in charge didn’t and that is a huge huge part of the issues now
They are utter tossers

I mean, the hard truth is we don't deserve to stay up. All three are playing better for sure.
Something will have to click for us soon for things to change and unfortunately that something would be having a fit Kudus, Kulusevski and Maddison. And that doesn't look like it will happen this season.
I GENUINELY need to find some positives from today and moving forward. I may sound delusional but I’m fighting against blind faith here at the minute. I think we were unlucky with the deflection for the goal and obviously the ref was a complete flange. Another must win on Saturday and a week for RDZ to show us why we went for him. @thfcsteff you need to resurrect the positivity thread!
The positive was that it was a tight game all the way through. We didn't concede 3 or 4 when they scored like we have done on other occasions. Goal difference is still in our favour when compared to West Ham although that gap is closung.

Regardless of the manager real football people would have smelled the danger caused by injuries and moved heaven and earth to get a couple of creative players in, in January. Spend £100m on each if you have to - you are looking at a £200 m plus loss if we go down anyway

An important thing you missed, we are not half decent.
As a team, right now, we are not. And we haven’t been for over a year, maybe two.

But it’s absolutely unprecedented for a team comprised of this many internationals who were bought for this much money (even in relative terms) to go 15-20 games without a few wins. It’s beyond mind boggling when you sit and think about it.

That’s Sunderland in 2003 or Derby in 2008 levels. We are not nearly that bad.

You know our then leadership decided too many players would be an issue for the CL squad
That’s exactly what they said
I mean WTF!!!!

We’re not … but we are
Because the issue is also what others do around us
Said for a while it was forest and Leeds to target in the table and I stand by that
But fudging hell it’s gonna be hard

We need 8-10 points from 6 games. Two of those are away to Chelsea and Villa.

The margins have gotten incredibly tight. It’s still very possible but becoming less so by the week and we’ve no more levers to pull.

Our first XI and even proper second XI finish comfortably midtable if not pushing for Europe in a good season. The problem is where the injuries have hit with long term absences across all the forward and creative midfield positions. Kulusevski and Maddison not being able to play a minute and Kudus missing the entire second half is unprecedented in terms of how it kills you as a team and a squad. We have no ability to be a consistent threat. What threat we do pose is predictable. You put just one of Kulu, Maddison or Kudus in this team and it changes. You put 2 or 3 of them in and we are a totally different proposition.

The absolute shadow teams we have fielded this year have been sunderland/derby levels. You've had Gray playing CB, left back, right back, Spence at left back, we have had to cobble teams out of odds and ends we have found down the back of the dressing room week to week and the quality and consistency has been nowhere
