OMT ** Tottenham Hotspur v Monaco ** 22/10/25.

Absolutely. Monaco are a very good side. So are we.
We aren't a "very good" side. We are ok and undergoing development to become better but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. Calling us very good only creates the expectation that we should be performing at a significantly better level than we currently are.

One thing is results. The other is the system, the positioning and the instructions that we can see plainly in front of our eyes. If Frank wanted to play a different game in possession right now he could, he doesn’t need 1 year or 6 years. Whether it would be as successful without the money Arsenal have spent is obviously a different story, but he could make different choices right now.

I’d love to have a clear explanation from him on unpacking why he’s doing what he’s doing now, if the intention is to do something else in the future. I’ve offered speculation on why I think it is, but I’d love to hear from him. It doesn’t change the fact of what we are seeing right now though. It’s not as if something is going to click which makes the intended style suddenly look wildly different,

And i think given the time and money spent AND lack of trophies, it puts into perspective where we are and how far too early this is to make any assumptions on Frank.

It's so so so early to be making any long term calls, I suspect it's those that didn't want him and wanting managers from Super clubs who are going early
Problem is that managers don't get anything like 6 years at Spurs (though I appreciate under the new decision makers that could change).

If he is going to double-down on this style of play (fast, direct via wide areas with lots of crosses and little progression/development through the middle of the pitch) then he is going to need better players in key areas. I think there's an interesting use of the word 'dynamic' here, because I think he does want us to be dynamic in wide areas; but is he interested in verve and dynamism via a passing game? Flowing, passing football through the middle too? I don't think so. But I also agree that to come to any conclusions on anything right now would be absolute madness, and that May will tell us a lot more.

My feelings as well, we have to see the season through before any real decision should/has to be made about [ yet again] changing managers. I despair sometimes about the culture we have about changing managers every couple of years.

Think we're at a point, or past it possibly, where we need to give Frank two years as intelligent potential managers will be being put off by the amount of manegerial churn at the club.
