In my view he's been in the wrong place at the wrong time more often than not.

He ran and ran, intercepted passes, and while his passing wasn't good enough, at least he was trying to unlock them. Royal on the other hand...in no way is he good enough on the ball to play this system. He can't play in midfield. A waste of space when we're in possession. Fine defensively, adds nothing in attack.
