***OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FC V fulham...Sat 29th (today FFS!) 8pm - BTW HAPPY BIRTHDAY FERNADEZ'S OLDEST KID***

A toxic mindset was established with all the Levy Out stuff last season. That’s not a comment on whether Levy should or should not have gone, or whether or not supporters were right or wrong with the protests etc, but simply that it produced an accepted outlet for dissatisfaction that is carrying on into this season.
The cost of tickets is a bit of a red herring in so far as even if every ticket cost £20 fans who are complaining now would still be complaining, but the cost rubs salt into a festering wound. And I get it. The football is awful. We should be seeing better. Or at least seeing a path to being better. And we’re not seeing that right now. I understand why people are fed up. I still think yesterday would have been different if we hadn’t coughed up two goals in the first five minutes - always an uphill battle after that, but that’s now in the overflowing “what if” bucket.

We as fans have had a reputation for years of thinking we are better than we are. I think we are finally realising that it’s true. And it hurts and it’s hard to deal with.

Yeh I agree, I am not saying its the fans fault BTW, before people start acting up however the CFT and the ROTS movements have done massive harm to the mindset of the fans. It causes fatigue and it sets in with fans, the constant negative rhetoric around the place, its tiring as much if not more than anything that happens on the pitch.

I know I drone on about it alot but the dozens on dozens of YT podcasts with 25k+ just constantly moaning and the twitterati, it impacts.

What attacking intent have we shown for most of the season other than hopeful punts into the box and set pieces?

He's here 5 months. That's time to show some attacking patterns.

There's a lot of area between your approach of blindly supporting the manager and wanting him sacked. Being unhappy with the manager and pointing out serious concerns does not equal wanting him sacked. So no, my solution isn't to undermine the manager (do you really think questioing his approach on here is undermining Frank??)
Yes.
and seek a new one.

We weren't a good side last year, but it wasn't a true reflection of the quality of the squad.

So it wasn’t a true reflection last season, and it isn’t this season either? You can see why other fans think our supporters are a bit deluded.

Finally!!!
You must hear some of it where you sit and cringe like I do, surely
Of course. And it comes from people that I really like as well. I’m not trying to make myself out to be a better supporter than anyone else and it’s not my place to tell people how to express their annoyance at what we’re seeing but I don’t like booing and I certainly don’t like booing of individual players. I first encountered that many years ago with Terry Fenwick and I hated it then but I really don’t remember many other occasions where it’s happened since.
It’s not just us mind you. Toxicity and entitlement is widespread. But we have had the latter for a while. We’re now getting the toxicity as well.

This made me think actually, I was trying to remember if our fans have ever booed any of our other players during games and the only one that’s comes to mind is Hossam Ghaly?

NDombele when he was sauntering off the pitch against Wycombe a couple of years back but that was a bit of a different situation.
Ghaly I didn’t witness first hand.

Ah yes, you’re right! FA Cup wasn’t it. Ghaly was substituted off by I think it was Jol, and took his shirt off and tossed it as he left the field. Got booed off and I’m pretty sure he got booed for a while after and was slowly passed out of the team before being sold.

I think there's some selective amnesia regarding Sherwood.

I’ve tried my best to forget him, but I can’t, unfortunately.

The club's been pretty much directionless since Pochettino left, maybe since Mourinho left, if you're feeling generous.

The squad is horribly unbalanced, not in terms of positions, but in terms of profile. It's not entirely the club's fault - we might be in a better situation if Paratici had been allowed to continue. Unfortunately, Paratici's signings were more 'opportunity' signings than part of a plan. Then we signed younger players but again, only because we thought they had a good resale value, not because we were aiming towards something.

Truth is, you also need experienced players. They serve a purpose. But, just like we've done with managers, we go all in on certain profiles then, apparently on a whim, move on to something else.

There's absolutely no rhyme or reason in our choices of managers. So, unsurprisingly, we're running around in circles. At the moment, the idea of giving Frank more time is depressing, because the football served is abject. But it wasn't any better last season, with a completely different manager. As far as I'm concerned, I can't see a difference in terms of entertainment.

I got a nasty feeling once the Postecoglou honeymoon was over that we were back to the 90s, and that's still where I am. We go into every season aiming big, saying Ferdinand, Anderton, Ginola, Klinsmann will make a difference but at the end of the day, they don't because the problem lies elsewhere.

Something will have to give, but I've got no idea what it is. However, when thinking about sacking Franck after 5 months, we should remember what our reputation was like when we hired Postecoglou. We're stuck between a rock and a hard place because there's no guarantee that giving him more time would produce better results. If it were my choice, I'd stick with him until the end of the season, but start feeling out the water and see if a more... suitable coach would be interested in joining (and rebuild from scratch).

That’s the reality. Where are we at ? We have been a basket case since Poch . No clear direction. In all aspects of the team. Managerial and player recruitment.

Conte said it all. Most fans didn’t want to listen.

I remember Lee Young-pyo getting it back in the Jol days. No idea why that one sticks in my head but I was disgusted at the time and let fans around me in the upper east know.

Yes.

If Frank is getting undermined by comments on here then he doesn't belong managing a premier league club.
It's funny, not rating Frank is undermining him, but not rating our squad is ok. You're the one that is deluded if you think 17th was a true reflection of the quality of the squad.
