Spin off from breaking bad. For some reason I just assumed it wouldn’t that be that good. Trying to milk it after the success of BB.

It’s all about opinions. I love it just started season 4.
Others hopefully will give thier take on it?

Thrillers. Seen all the breaking bad stuff etc.

I really enjoyed Narcos, if you dont mind subtitles.

The Punisher was very good.

As was Jessica Jones. Appreciate the whole Marvel thing doesnt appeal to all, but these two I thought were especially good.

Better call Saul is apparently very good (especially for those who liked Breaking Bad). I havent watched it but have it on my list.

Black Mirror, anthology series. Quality can vary but its never terrible and when its good its REALLY good.

Ozark - seen season 1 and its excellent.

The Alienist was good, kind of Sherlock Holmes vibe.

Mindhunter was excellent, early days of FBI profiling.

Hannibal I quite liked, some excellent visual and sound design on it, which adds a surrealism to things.

Peaky Blinders is on there, high quality TV (BBC in conjunction with HBO if memory serves)

The Sinner was very good, has a bit of a twist on the "who did it" by showing that right away, gets interesting afterwards.

Thats all Ive got off the top of my head for the moment!

Quite liking the Haunting of Hill House at the moment. It's half-way between Six Feet Under and schlock 80s horror. Hope it stays as one season though. Any attempt to extend it, and it will go the way of Lost.

no its really good, comparable to cheers / Frasier for quality spin off. - you got Prime? a few on there are good.

I stopped watching Black Sails and Vikings as got fed up with the soft porn thrown in for all the teenage boys watching.

Both of which cut it down dramatically after the early seasons.

Black Sails started off with Spatacus vibes, lots of sex and violence - but quickly became more of a straight drama and all the better for it.

Similarly Vikings, still plenty of violence but nothing like the sex/nudity as early episodes.

Id recommend giving both another chance, they get better and better IMO.

I get really annoyed with the recent fashion of having to have foreign language used in thrillers to provide "authenticity", I have enough imagination to realise that people will be speaking in the native lounge within the story.

Thanks I'll give them an other try.

For an example "The Tunnel" "Strangers" "The Americans" I understand the french, chinese and Russians will be speaking in their language why do they have to do it and have subtitles, does it improve the story? If I watch a foreign film or tv show I except to have to read the subtitles not when watching british or American. I regularly watched the foreign version of Wallender and The Tunnel had enjoyed them.

I found the first 1-2 seasons of BCS to be slow, but still quite enjoyed it.

However, season 4 (esp. the final episode) is possibly the best TV I have ever watched. It just gets better and better imo.

Being dyslexic it blows them out of the water for me.
Narco was excellent but it nearly broke my remote pausing a rewinding!

@nayimfromthehalfwayline Is El Chapo subtitle heavy?

Ah I see. Doesnt bother me, to be honest. Maybe it is authenticity as you say, they are Chinese (etc) so they would be speaking Chinese.

I also think its handy when, as with Narcos, there are scenes with and without English speakers.

With the English speakers there are times they are speaking Spanish which the CIA guy then cant understand, and times they speak English. Its a useful tool for the show makers, and, ultimately, they are Columbian so why would they speak English all the time?

Despite appearances, I havent actually watched everything on there! This is one Im yet to get to (on the list though) so cant help you Im agfraid.

Patriot / hap & Leonard / Bosh

Can certainly recommend these as well, completely forgot about them.
