I think it’s his style
It’s possibly effective when there is no expectation on you
People when they don’t know what to do tend to revert to what they know and trust
Issue is if what you trust doesn’t work you don’t get time to do what you really want
And if it always needs new players and more money spent then clearly the guy in charge is part of the issue
Maybe. One thing we can all be sure of is that (while it lasts) it will always need new players and more money!

Looks like a pretty rough one, I missed the game as I was late in the pecking order...

Better news my way, so I just wanna extend my thanks again for the donations, being a part of this wierd and wonderful forum and supporting this team - I wouldn't have it any other way. To raise over 350 quid for Cancer Research and get the win, what a day (apart from the NLD side of things, I'm guessing I should avoid the highlights? I'll see if I can post bits of the fight to distract you guys).

@spurspinter1 I hope you won your bout and pummelled the chav fan as much as he deserved, (and that you are not hospitalised or in any way badly hurt yourself) but please don’t start an OMT in the foreseeable.

Ha sorry folks!

Looks like Spurs took more of a beating than I did tbh 😐 I kept my undefeated record intact, inspired by a rousing speech referring to our valiant champions of Bilbao

Next game vs arse, we should shoot from the half way line at every opportunity. We've had two attempts and 2 goals from that range in the last 2 games vs them.
It's obviously the way to beat them.

The performance was horrendous but what's even more worrying is the fact that someone would think you can get anything away from a game with that kind of set-up in 2025. It might have worked in the 90s (and probably not even in England) but those days are long gone. I agree with @Bedfordspurs - this one had Nuno vibes, albeit with inferior players.

We're obviously on a steep downwards trend and the people in charge of the club aren't helping by picking managers with contrasting philosophies: Pochettino - Mourinho - Conte - Nuno - Postecoglou - Frank... it's not even 'find the odd one out', it's 'find any logic in that'.

Frank will (hopefully) get until the end of the season at the very least, but it's going to be a very long and very boring season. Where's the fun in watching any of that crap? We should try to strike a partnership with prozac... buy one ticket for a Spurs match, get a bottle of pills for free.

Sir Les is wording my concerns exactly here.
And also very accurate from Henry about our flanks.
This is the bit that stood out for me

IMG_0475.jpeg

We have had some average sides
We have had some managers clearly being radical away at Arsenal (nuno bypassing midfield)
But that was our worst attacking performance bar one other game in our last 392 games
And Arsenal really didn’t have to work hard for it

Richy cant press
He is always all over the place

I think Richy naturally wants to be in a position to show for the ball rather than be next to his marker. You've seen him live a lot. I haven't. On the couple of occasions I have watched him live, I noticed how he was constantly speculating to receive a pass. He just keeps constantly moving to find the pockets of space. Almost a bit Defoe like. It's a slightly different thought process when you're in a defensive, counter-attacking, even long ball team as a nine. You just have to be the battering ram next to the centre halves.

It's why I still see him as a left forward and a total makeshift 9. He's fighting his natural instincts in this setup.

He is never a CF
It’s such a specialised role and one you don’t just do as a stop gap

Couldn't watch the game for some unforeseen reasons. Typically I'd always watch the game back, but think I'll skip this particular one.

Listened to the pod, read a couple of comments on here. Seems like the universe did me a favour stopping me from seeing it really. Given some of our previous performances this season it kinda feels like I've already seen the game.

Hope all is ok. It was like the worst possible combination of our performances this season, along with our usual display at the Emirates. Definitely do not watch. It was a 1:30am kick off here and I wrote my Monday off to watch it live. Regretting it massively.

Just returned from Oz/NZ the day before game...

I made the decision a few years ago not to watch this fixture and honestly I almost always regret whenever I do watch it. Didn’t watch yesterday thankfully. The result still annoyed me especially as they’ve pulled even further clear at the top. I don’t understand how people go into this fixture actually expecting us to win 😂
