Xavi isn't a CM, hes an AM. I'm talking someone who can recive the ball deep on the turn even and who can conduct. Someone who has a vision of the pitch in thier mind and can orchestrate. None of our CMs can do this, the two we are playing today can only pass backwards. Neither of them are at fault per se but it effects the structure of our play, it means we can never build up or flow with the ball.

Maddison would be our best option, despite primarily being an AM as he has the tools required for that sort of role, but that's obviously not available to us.

I think we'd have been better going 532 rather than 523 today with an extra CM in there as opposed to having 3 attackers

We’ll shoot again, don’t know where, don’t know when….

Thought I’d missed one shot by us but then realised that’s the penalty spot on the graphic!!

Frank does not appear to want that type of player. It will be a deal-breaker for me if he continues not to want to try and play football...

You can criticise the manager if you wish. Where have I said you can't? Read my posts in this thread i'm literally criticising his approach...

Indeed. Honestly mate, whenever I see the phrase 'happy clapper' is tinkles me off, so was as much about that as anything ;-)

Thing is, this football 'performance' is just typical of the unambitious approach we have had this season and the lack of actual football we play.

The only difference is it looks worse when coming up against a very good side....

What an absolute fudging disgrace of a first half. Completely gutless…and the worst bit is that it’s by fudging design.

This ain’t fudging Brentford.

Don't you always advise to consider the injury situation and that the manager hasn't had enough time to be judged?
