Used to go and watch up in Nottingham and Coventry all the time, not really sure what the level is like in the EIHL these days but years ago it was good fun, especially the NHL lockout year, that's when the last London team folded sadly.

A league of our own this season! If we can keep this team injury free there should be a good chance for another cup. It would be nice to get over there sooner rather than later.

The missus has a friend who has moved to Denver, so there is chatter from her she wants to visit, if I play it right it could be happening.
Yeah we're an absolute monster right now, even with a pretty low scoring PP, if we can take it into the playoffs we should do it but best team in the league can come unstuck early in the playoffs.
Got the Olympics to enjoy soon too.

Yeah, for whatever reason the PP has been pretty bad for a good while now, which is really odd considering our personell. We have scored a few over the last few games though, so long may it continue! That's the fear, isn't it - so typical to have a good season and then just choke in the playoffs, especially seeing as we're obviously meeting Wild and Stars again, those fudging nemesis clams. I even have a jersey with Rantanen on, felt like throwing it away when he forced his way out. What an idiot. And what a player. One of the best I've ever seen, unfortunately.
That's true! Canada will be a lot of fun to watch. Just saw their roster posted - it's like an NHL all-star team. Binnington/Kuemper, Doughty, Makar, Parayko, Theodore, Towes, McDavid, MacKinnon, Crosby, Hagel, Marchand, Marner. Haha, just ridiculous. They're in a pretty tought group with Czech and Switzerland though, but should walk all over them both. Sweden vs Finland another classic. I'm obliged to cheer for Sweden due to my heritage, and I reckon they will be a lot of fun too - lots of great players.

I'm just writing to myself here, but in this dire time of being a Spurs fan, it's so good to have a team that is the polar opposite, just doing everything right and have been for years - tonight resigning Stanley cup hero Nazem Kadri on deadline day - fudging yes! What a player, and what a team we will have now. Unbelievable. So fudging happy about this! Just had to share it with myself and @superspurs obviously! We should definitely challenge for the cup now.

Enjoyed that win last night. Some real clutch stuff from Val and Wedgewood.
It is nice having a team that is doing pretty damn well for a change.
Hope we keep it up in the playoffs, really pleased Naz is back too, we're VERY deep up top now.

Great for morale to beat those fudges! They're going to be tough in the playoffs.
Not only are we doing well on the ice, to have someone as cunning as Sakic running things off the ice, always just getting the right people in, taking risks with the people going out - this guy knows what he's doing. Imagine Spurs having someone like him running things!
@Seedy Ron - haha, I think he's 35! Definitely a veteran, the old brickhouse, but he's still got it. Jagr played professional hockey until he was 52, I think!

May be wrong but think he's still knocking about now in Czechia at 54.
Saw him live when he was at the Flames, he wasn't great at that level by then but every time he got the puck near goal the arena all took a sharp breath in... was brilliant.

Damn, he's still at it!? I read some article on him a few years back where he was asked whether he missed having a wife and kids, and he was just cool as you like, "no, I gave that up for hockey" - dedication!
I saw the re-debut for Kadri yesterday (finally at an hour where I can actually watch) - too bad he didn't score his pen, but got an assist and did well otherwise! Minnesota are good. My compatriot Zuccarello still doing well at 39 or something. Great guy.
