Nico Zaniolo

He sounds more of a central attacking midfielder rather than someone who can genuinely play wide, unless this isn't the case then I don't see him as back up for either RWF or LWF.

We don't really play with wide forwards. The width is meant to come from the wingbacks.

Kulu played pretty wide last night. There's also a big difference in someone who plays wide but cuts in like Mahrez and someone who just plays central.

All the descriptions ive read on him are that he's a physical dribbler, but not much of a passer. Almost Dembele, but with pace as well as power/technique.

But that sounds more suited to a deeper line breaker than an ACM?

Had him down as a WF/AM but can't say i know too much about him - can't see us buying a player in the attacking positions who doesn't fit in to how we play /want to play

That what he is. He's not going to play in a midfield two

Might be somewhat flippant but to a certain extent we're sufficiently lacking in quality that any players coming in who are decent are welcome almost regardless of position. Having some depth in the squad and on the bench would be great

Porro and Zaniolo are 23 too so enough good years ahead of them

Interesting that Zaniolo ha been left out of their match day squad today

Sounds a bit like a Kulusevski type player, what’s not to like? Maybe the injury record, but other than that.
End product and passing apparently, though i dont really remember seeing him play.

Still young enough to develop though, esp as he's missed a lot of football with those injuries. Dembele was also mid 20s before he incorporated those final components

Perfect Moura replacement

Think there needs to be a realisation from Spurs fans taht we arent necessarily the most attractive proposition for players. We're not unattractive, and Kane, Conte and the stadium are also useful things to draw players in, but above a certain talent level, a player will wait to see what other options they have. We dont pay top top wages, and havent exactly got a track record of delivering trophies

So a finished article player with experience in a major league will be hard to attract. We either need players like Porro from a tier 2 league, players from lower half or championship in England or players from another major European league but who isnt the finished article with more than say 20 caps

Zaniolo and Porro and kind of ideal signings for us in that regard and given their age

100%
And they grow with the team
Odegard now would get into most teams in the world
But at Madrid he was farmed out to play with lesser sides as they didn’t value him as high as they could have
He has grown at arsenal and is now captain for a side going for the title
For us it’s bentacur and kulu

Agreed. Very good mix of having age on their side, but also having real experience making it more likely that Conte will trust them. Probably good enough to make a good impact even fairly early.

Perhaps not the talent of the very best young players that can go on to be utterly elite players. But a lot of quality and still some potential there for improvement in the right setup.

Zaniolo I think has a lot of quality, but hasn't quite come together for him yet. Could end up as one of those eternal unfulfilled potential players, but could also come together for him to become an excellent player.

How long will it take to extract the Mourinho poison and damage out of him? The rest of our squad are currently 18 months and counting

Think the real question is how long will it take to extract it out of you and you weren't even around for it. The squad is fine.
