I've used Western Union in the past, no problems.

paypal for quickness and moneycorp for anything with a decent amount

I transfer TO Thailand on a fairly regular basis. Used western union at first, but the exchange rate they give is horrendous. Normal bank transfer is cheapest option for me. You need to give him your banks IBAN/SWIFT number. your bank will help you with that.
