the whole defence is a mess. not sure if its dier or toby or loris directing but i am sure JM will sort it out. we need leaders and more decisiveness across all 3... none of them deserves the MOTM award

I think by and large we have defended pretty well considering how much defending we have had to do. I can't see anything other than Jose instructing the team to sit as deep as we are and concede possession, otherwise he'd be out of his technical area going mad at the two centre halves to get further up the pitch.

To a certain extent with how deep we sit and how we task our players with defensive roles a healthy clean sheet balance should be expected. It's not to say that it is easy, but it's not quite as impressive as if we were playing more openly and positioned 10 yards further up the pitch.

not letting the attack past is only half the story. staging an effective counter is poor as teams have wisened up and put more people around him. but to do that they would have had to pull one or two back from supporting the attack. and we have not been able to capitalize on that despite on what we deem are worthy upgrades in ndomb, lo celso and hojberg. we're definitely better than when poch left us. but we are not close to winning anything yet with this lot.
