Indeed. I think we've already seen the Paulinha/Bentancur axis was very different under De Zerbi compared to Frank. The way De Zerbi uses those same players could lead to different outcomes than under Frank & Tudor
Or alternatively, maybe we are so confident that he wants to sign for us that we can focus on the other signings and add some pressure on Bayern to give us a discount... pure speculationAnyone heard any news on Joao? I’m actually annoyed we’ve not tied this one up and by the amount of time that’s passed, it looks unlikely now

Palhinha a caminho do Sporting por 25 milhões de euros
O médio internacional português é cobiçado pelos leões. Tottenham, formação inglesa que contou com ele na época passado por empréstimo do Bayern, também na corrida.www.cmjornal.pt
Off to Sporting for 25M supposedly ..
Shame. I think he’s a big loss, and after RDZ waxing lyrical about his abilities I’m a little surprised we’ve let him go![]()

Alternatively I'm surprised that after Palhinha waxing lyrical about "who wouldn't want to play for Spurs' he's decided that he would rather play for Sporting.Shame. I think he’s a big loss, and after RDZ waxing lyrical about his abilities I’m a little surprised we’ve let him go
Without him there is absolutely no doubt we would have been relegated- his attitude and goals were of paramount importance.Hope not
If we’re not in for him what can he do? He’ll want play somewhere. I’ve seen nothing that makes me think he prefers Sporting over usAlternatively I'm surprised that after Palhinha waxing lyrical about "who wouldn't want to play for Spurs' he's decided that he would rather play for Sporting.
Who says were weren't in for him? According to the 'Cartilage Free Captain' website (and not being fluent in Portuguese I'll have to rely on them) the article linked above says "Spurs attempted to trigger his purchase option after the conclusion of his loan to Tottenham, but that Palhinha has reportedly chosen to return to Sporting in order to be closer to his family".If we’re not in for him what can he do? Fair enough if that’s the case then good luck to himWho says were weren't in for him? Can applaud that to some extent. Came here, became a season hero, wants to spend time with family.Wasn’t the reason he’s going back to Portugal to be closer to his kids? We could be peak Madrid/Utd/Barca and you’re not competing with that are you..
Although he'll be a long time retired. At 31 you think he'd maybe fancy one or two more years at the highest level he can manage. Then move his family back to his hometown. Unless he can seriously feel his legs going and is keeping ahead of the curveCan applaud that to some extent. Came here, became a season hero, wants to spend time with family.
Fair play

I thought he’d split up with his Mrs and she took them back to Portugal. So don’t think he’s got much say in moving them…Although he'll be a long time retired.
