January Transfer Thread - it couldn't open and close any quicker

Totally unfair on Shaggy. He was quality and injured a lot less than his reputation suggests.
Anderton was excellent. Think he was injured when he joined from Pompey and the nickname 'sicknote' stuck.
On a side note, still can't believe we didn't get a penalty and Linegan sent off in the '93 donkey Derby semi final when Anderton was brought down when clean through on goal. Think the ref even gave a goal kick the c**t

He didnt have a chance, the media pinup boy had to be promoted at all cost, his 7 goals in 30 games for England is far better strike rate than "the boy David" with 17 in 115, despite the golden boy taking over 1000 freekick "in his range".

Could not agree more the hype over GOLDENBALLS was way over the top.

We outplayed those tossers that day. It was robbery.

he was on a good podcast a little while ago (the 90s football podcast - https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/darren-anderton-s02e02/id1209129231?i=1000392654181) and i recall he essentially blamed the Spurs medical team for much of his time out. Worth a listen.

The summer business had already been concluded before Conte agreed to sign second time round, so unless it was 'forgotten' about, not sure how it would now be 'new' information in the conversation.
My thoughts exactly. Strange piece for Ali Gold to go with, must be a slow news week for him.

And just to add, with the UK’s softer restrictions and allowing full stadiums it only makes our finances surer in comparison to competitors abroad.

Would be a good option for us under Conte, if he was 2 or 3 years younger. Great delivery which we sadly miss at the moment.

31 years old now, but he’s never been that pacy. Would def be very useful against park the bus teams (esp considering how much possession our rwb gets), but presume he wanted to be up north.

Did he burn his bridges with us? Never found out what his complaints about Poch related to?
