WLB

Hey, sorry I haven’t been able to get on the site the past few days. I’ve been trying, so if I disappear again, it’s not for lack of effort!

Since Sunday, Lange has really been stepping things up on Simons. We’d actually made progress there before the MGW deal came into play, but once that surfaced, we shelved it to focus on Morgan.
Now that we’ve moved on from that, we’ve shifted our focus back to Xavi. Chelsea are pushing hard for him too, and Winstanley is aware of our approach. Lange is on standby to close the deal as soon as we get the green light from the player.
Xavi’s club have told him they believe Tottenham would be the better move for his development, and we’re ready to match an acceptable offer. That’s part of what’s currently slowing Chelsea down on their end.

Bayern have also re-submitted an offer to the player , but Xavi’s priority is still a move to the Premier League. Chelsea are still front runners but the player hasn’t closed the door on us

Eh....I'm trying to imagine what kind of 'effort' is required to 'get on the site'

Come over to GG.... believe me no effort at all...be on it all day if you wish

(Not that anyone is 😎)

Our problem since Pochettino is that we have too often signed ‘back ups’ instead of better players to go into the first team.
levy went back on his promise that stadium cost and squad cost would be separate.
well at least our squad budget is much higher now. but such missed opportunity - talk about sliding doors moment. if levy had started the stadium a few years earlier or later who know what the squad would have achieved under poch with better players

Yep you are right.

Also, I heard someone discussing on the radio the other day that it would it is now virtually impossible for a club to build a stadium like ours now, The increase in cost of materials and the financial market the way it is would mean it would cost north of 2 billion! It just shows how lucky we were with the stadium build and the funding etc. Of course, we didn't capitalise on the pitch until now but hopefully that's all starting to change

Agree. Chelsea and Utd will never build theirs now. At best they'll be able to do a stand-by-stand retrofit like Anfield (although in both cases railway lines will mean they can never do a decent job)

A couple of cups, and you'd still be moaning?
