ITK Thread

Eze seems more attainable. Linked last year, his agebts are close with Spurs and he’s not regarded quite as highly as some others. Which is maybe unfair. He isn’t consistent maybe, but idk how much of that is dependent on how Palace are playing.

He is the right age - a more senior and developed player that we need but not too old. Obviously skilful.

Of the various players linked who seem to have a similar profile (samanyo, Simons, Kudus), Eze might be the most pragmatic option. Some questions over his consistency but I haven’t watched him play enough to know.

The interesting thing with Dembele was he was so good in a reserved role in midfield - he could turn anyone and leave them in a heap - but he never managed to do the same thing further forward. I’m sure some of that was in his head, he lacked the mentality to be an attacking star in the limelight. He was more comfortable being more reserved and supporting. (No doubt bigger CBs weren’t as easy to role as midfielders too).

With Kudus you get the impression he loves the limelight and performing. Sometimes too much - he might take too many touches and want to unblock everything himself. But he’s not ‘shy’ upfront like Dembele was. So as @thfcsteff says, with the right structure, drills and guidance he can better apply his maverick skills.

Perhaps we should’ve recruited van Gaal as gaffer to unlock Dembele’s full scoring potential!

Good player, double figures in goals for the last 3 seasons in all comps. 26 with 166 PL games, 300+ Pro games under his belt.

Just not sure he's a position we need, like I see Mbeumo walking into our side (starting RW), who does Eze replace from starting lineup?

He’d replace Maddison. But to be honest nobody’s replacing anyone. We have 4 competitions to handle. Maddison rarely completes 90 mins and has shown injury issues. He would need to be heavily rotated anyway

Where we've just spent £40m on Tel, on top of £25m on Odobert 10 months ago?

I also think Kulu marginally starts ahead of him at ACM.

I agree with Raziel, we need a right-sider (who can also play a bit more central)
Eze is probably best central, So we would definitely still need a new RWF. If thats Mbeumo, Dibling or someone else, But not sure we should even be considering Kulusevski in any discussions as he's probably out until sometime next year no?

Its been like this on most of our recent signings. They literally don't have any sources.

I still find them entertaining etc.. But less so as I think the leak has been well and truly plugged
Yep I like reading the itk’s, it can be fun. Shame on anyone for believing them and getting upset about it when it inevitably doesn’t happen

You’re not being fair. They always knew about him but couldn’t say because it might jeopardise the deal of course

Some just didn't wan't to endanger their source.
They might be cut up by the yakuza or something.

They'd spent 5 years in a prison camp with the itk engraved on a watch that they stuffed up their arse. Just to get the information out. They didn't want to go back.

He can play central and left
Pretty much like Maddison but Maddison may be seen more as a centre midfielder type now
I think eze happens when/if we sell son

Just a weird signing unless someone thinks his ceiling is way higher

Son, Tel, Wilson, Moore, Solomon, Richi can all play left side

Don't think he can dictate play from center at the level needed to push Maddison out of that role.

FB, DM, RW, CF all more of a priority ..

Son has dropped off massively
Richy isn’t a left sided player anymore and is never fit enough
Moore is one for the future
Solomon can’t lace Ezes boots IMO
Tel and Wilson are valid but both need to work on their decision making and that’s something that comes with a few years here

Eze could easily play off the right too no?
