Would you have these as interim manager to finish the season?

  • John Heitinga

  • Current Coach (Lewis, Cochrane, Burnett, Carr)

  • Ryan Mason

  • Jurgen Klinsmann

  • Chris Hughton

  • Brendan Rodgers

  • Edin Trzic

  • Gareth Southgate

  • Former Manager Hoddle/Jol/Redknapp/Sherwood

  • Stick with Frank no matter what

Fans on Social media apparently losing their minds over the appointment. The same sort of people that would have acted like this when we appointed Jol if social media was as big back then.

We need to be fully behind the manager and team for the rest of the season. Place needs to be rocking when we walk out against the Goons. Let's not start off this short and possibly brief chapter with negative vibes.
Exactly mate.
We weren't exactly spoilt for choices at this stage of a season but people just seem to moan for the sake of it on social media.

The bloke's here for 12 games, so let's at least give him a chance before slagging everything off.

This 'we need a relegation battle manager' thing is over stated for me tbh.

Two of the big reasons we are flopping is because 1) Our fans arent behind the team and football 2) The players didn't buy into the manager and football

If Tudor's style is more aligned and the players buy into him then we will get more than enough points - It's not a necessity to have an Allardyce or whoever, just a manager capable of getting this team playing closer to it's potential and we will be fine....
How many goals do you think us fans will score if we like the football?

My guess is somewhere between zero and zero. Possibly some fat fudge might run onto the pitch and knock a spare ball in before security get hold of him,but I don't think they count those.

Ok. This is every time he has taken over a team part way through a season. He joined all of these teams later than February 16th in all cases. In all cases he made a positive impact that led to saving the team from relegation or they qualified for Europe. If you took his record over our remaining 12 games we would get another 21pts. He did half as well we are comfortably staying up.

He is very clearly a mid season specialist, whether that is to save relegation or make sure clubs who rely on European qualification are in those competition.

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in…..

Igor. Tudor.

Strikes fear in silly haircuts. Kicks pre-match ass. Chokes chokers at half time and in added time.

I do not see us not winning titles this season.

He'll be good or not. We'll see.

Really not that bothered. Which is a bit sad.
It's just been a really poor season and it's been a struggle to stay engaged.
Really disappointed with Frank because I got sucked in to all that talk about how adaptable and versatile he was but it turned out to be nonsense, or at least he choked in the spotlight.

I doubt anyone is expecting much out of the Arsenal game but a battling performance would be nice to see and I'm hoping that Tudor is a bit better at communicating and motivating the players.
He's got a pretty decent reputation as a player and appears to be quite a strong character, so for the short term, fingers crossed.🤞

It's not just this season. Apart from the cup win last season was bad. The first 10 games of the season before, it wasn't great.

I dunno. .aybe just getting older and not caring as much. There isn't a player in the squad who i really like. Not like a sheringham, son, kane, ginola, gazza, hoddle, klinnsmann. Nothing to excite.

Yeah, last season's trophy sprinkled glitter on the turd for sure and really, we've been going downhill since before the CL final, especially in terms of squad building.

And due to our poor squad building, I think the likeable and exciting players are all youngsters and will need another season or two yet.

It's not all doom and gloom but after two crappy seasons, it's not going to be easy to attract top talent so our next manager has to be someone who can progress the young potential we already have imo.

I haven't looked because I stay away from the cesspit as much as possible. What the f**k were they expecting? We wanted someone to come in and make an impact, someone who has managed recently, someone who'll play attacking football, someone with some sort of record in relegation fights and someone with PL experience.

I can't think of anyone realistic who ticks all the boxes. This fella ticks all except the PL experience one. It's an appointment that makes sense. The owners and people who run the club have a lot of questions to answer and some heads should roll for the mess we are in but this isn't a bad decision based on what we know IMO.

My fear is that if people are against him off the bat and that's reflective of the match going fan, if he doesn't get off to a good start, the negativity will spiral. Given his first game is home to Woolwich and his second is a tricky away trip to Fulham, I'd hate to see him pilloried before he gets a fair crack at it.

start of season before losing Maddison and Kulu I’d say we were top 6-8 squad. With what’s available now we are relegation fodder. There’s no leaders on that pitch. Very little quality in attacking areas. Very little creativity from the midfield.

Think we better pray 3 teams have a worse run in than us because we look done. Losing becomes a habit and the rot has set in.

This new guy better be a miracle worker.

I think we’ve some decent characters/leaders in there. Gallagher and Pahlinha would be the first two that come to mind.

Oh GHod, we all know what happens to managers with perfect records when they Tottenham

Essentially, he needs to get 4 wins from our final 12 games. Three would probably be just about enough, especially if two of those are against Leeds and Forest.

I thought I'd take a punt at making some predictions. Join in if you feel like it...

Arsenal (H) - 1 point
Fulham (A) - 1 point
Crystal Palace (H) - 3 points
Liverpool (A) - 0 points
Forest (H) - 3 points
Sunderland (A) - 0 points
Brighton (H) - 3 points
Wolves (A) - 3 points
Aston Villa (A) - 0 points
Leeds (H) - 1 point
Chelsea (A) - 0 points
Everton (H) - 1 point

The obvious 'heart over head' is Goons at home. Reality says defeat but new manager bounce plus it being them says a draw.

So 15-16 points for me, which means a season end of 44 or 45 points.
Thoughts?

If we can instill some belief in the players and the crowd do their bit then all the home games are there to be won - NLD aside.

The unknown element is the injuries (will they continue/ease off) and the impact the CL knockout phase will have

It really depends on the injuries. VDV, Xavi, Solanke go down we would be in real trouble.

I’d break it into block of 4 games. 13pts if it includes wins over Forest & Leeds at home would be enough with 42 points.

Block 1
Arsenal (H) - 0
Fulham (A) - 1
Palace (H) - 3
Liverpool (A) - 0
4pts

Block 2
Forest (H) - 3
Sunderland (A) - 0
Brighton (H) - 0
Wolves (A) - 1
5pts

Block 3
Aston Villa (A) - 0
Leeds (H) - 3
Chelsea (A) - 0
Everton (H) - 1
4pts

I personally think we will get more points from Sunderland, Brighton, Wolves and finish on 46pts.

Insane optimism...I'll have what you're snorting/popping/smoking/drinking please!
I reckon 9 or 10 points maximum if we don't get more injuries, and if we get a couple back, and no more injuries, maybe 11 or 12.
But if our current injury blitz recurs...
