How many Spurs players would stay?

Bale

Sean Davis
I got thinking and If we were in Rangers position; Which first team players would transfer there contracts over to the new Tottenham.

I can only think of one and that is Benoit Assou Ekotto and that's because he doesn't seem the brightest spark and he won't know the difference between the premier league and division 3.

Considering BAE says he only plays football for the money i really couldn't see him staying some how.

None - mercenaries to the core who have careers to forge - remember, most have around a decade to make enough money to last a lifetime, and unless you're at the very top, things can be hairy

None - and I wouldn't expect any of them to either.

Would you stay with your company for no money when theyt were going bust?

I agree, but this idea that they have 10 year careers?

I'm 34 and have another 30 years to work!! A footballer can work in an office and have a normal job just anyone else!

The idea that they can retire at 30 is laughable, fudge them.

To my mind - most of them have at best secondary education and unless wish/can to go into coaching or punditry - what else is there at the end of the road?

I know number of local rugby players (who are on average paid far less) invest into propery development, etc. during their playing years. Not sure what the average footballer does with his income.

Berbatov would come back as a 'sorry'... he never wanted to leave in the first place... oh, no hang on...

in the real world, I'd imagine the Spurs under-11's (and a couple of Spurs supporting Youth team players) MIGHT just about be persuaded to hang around, if only to seize their chance once all the mercenaries have left!

I know a guy who played for 10 years at Falkirk and S****horpe, so not top level but he still earned ?2k a week.......works as a personal trainer now.

But fudge them!! If they haven't put money away or made investments then they can get a McJob for all I care, tis idea they are immune from the real world is gonad*s

Yes, which is why it's laughable to see so many relying purely on those 10-odd years and zero planning afterwards

They were still getting paid top dollar and expected to come straight up.

And how is this different to Rangers?

if they stay, they can come back up by beating dross every week. The wages probably a bit less on the newco deals but next year with the SPL wages.

And then applying to Spurs in this hypothetical scenario..?

Well, it's one more than it was about 15 minutes ago...
