Legend is an overused word but, in the context of Spurs, that's exactly what you are:

STEVE PERRYMAN
Posted 05 May 2012 10:12pm
The Club would like to send their best wishes to Steve Perryman for a speedy recovery after feeling breathless during Exeter City's match against Sheffield United this afternoon and being taken to hospital.

Exeter City's Director of Football and our record appearance holder is now in a comfortable condition in hospital.

Hope he will be OK. One of the last true Tottenham men.

Something the younger generation could never understand.

This bloke bled for Tottenham. Even though he was a Brentford/QPR fan in his youth, he would have died for us.
There is NO_ONE who compares these days.

Ou record appearance holder i think, feel that he got over shadowed by that because it is the first thing people talk about when actually he was a bloody good footballer.

Been down at exter a while now, does he live down there? nice part of the country.

Get well soon stevie.

You should move down here Chich, it's fudging lovely

Oh, FFS.

This bloke is my all time Mr Tottenham.

Steve, get well soon General.

=D>

He really is one of the most amazing blokes, not just in Tottenham terms. Being in the side of Hoddle, Ardilles, not to mention Greaves, Peters, Chivers et al, his ability was overshadowed. He was a master of not just one position - midfield, sweeper, central defender & latterly as RB. Ultimately a terrific captain, not just for the players on the pitch, but for the club & he always, always has time for the supporters.

Get well soon, Steve & have a long, relaxing summer!

Agree with all this. My favourite player as a young'un. Get well soon, Steve.

True Spurs legend, hope gets well soon so he can finally have his belated inaugaration into the Spurs hall of fame. Best Wishes Steve.

There is absolutely no question that the word "legend" is appropriate. In fact, right, right up there in the top 2 or 3 Spurs for me.

STEVE PERRYMAN - UPDATE
Posted 06 May 2012 10:45am
The thoughts and best wishes of everyone at the Club are with Steve Perryman as he remains in hospital following heart surgery.

Our legendary former captain, record appearance holder and now Exeter City's Director of Football was taken to hospital on Saturday after feeling breathless during Exeter's match against Sheffield United.
Steve was transferred from the RD&E Hospital to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth on Saturday night, where he underwent heart surgery and is now in intensive care.
The Club would like to advise those supporters due to attend Steve's Hall of Fame dinner scheduled for this Thursday, May 10, that this has now been postponed.
